I'm sure the last thing on the governers mind are football games.

A gathering of over 100k in an effected area that takes away from emergency response personnel...not looking good.

You think the Florida governor has the authority to tell LSU and Florida where to play a football game?
Wut? Of course he does.

Well is UF is a state funded school. He can surely tell UF they aren't having a game in the stadium on State property

Of course he has the authority. However I'm sure he trust the high brass at the university to make the right decision.
Now if the gov calls for a mandatory evacuation then he just made the decision for them.

It'll be at Florida. They expect the worst of the storm to be past by game time.
It will more than likely be played @ UF, but it is smart to go ahead and begin prepping for a contingency in case it can't be played @ UF.

If they play it in Gainesville in the middle of a hurricane that would be one of the all time greatest dumbest decisions ever to be made by a college/governor/AD.

Seriously the decision to have it in Gainesville and that decision backfiring would be one of the biggest frickups ever

Won't be in the middle of a hurricane.

The aftermath of a hurricane.

That decision can't be made on Friday after the storm passes.
It will likely have to be made tomorow some rime to have everything ready.
Other than the stadium being stocked and ready, they need to have security and law enforcement resources not to mention the TV broadcast being rerouted.
It's not a wait and see approach after tomorow.

If they have this game in Florida well that's just asinine. At least given the expected winds how the hell do you fly into Gainesville in that On Friday??

I'm shocked there are so many Louisiana posters who think it's sunshine and butterflies the minute after a hurricane passes.

Yeah! Didn't you know? Frickin' Tom Jones crawls out of the Swamp, and it's game on.

If they wait and it gets bad this will be a gigantic clusterfrick

You know whose really in peril Saturday is Georgia at SC. I think we all know what happens when Muschamp gets trapped in a hurricane...

Wife (no pics), works in LE and got an email about availability to work IF there is a game in TS. Doesn't mean anything but def making contingency plans
Posted on 10/4/16 at 9:11 pm to TigerDat
TigerDat nailed it. Decision will be made tomorrow. If the computer models suggest doubt that the game should be played in Gainesville, then it will be moved to BR. Simple decision, but they will wait until tomorrow at noon because they can. My belief is that the game is coming to BR.

Did you see the new models?? Still don't know how I post a pic but look in the stickied thread on OT. Pg 66
