Student section to be reduced for Friday night’s basketball game

Email students received from LSU just now:

Due to LSU being on winter break, the student section will be reduced in size for Friday night’s men’s basketball game vs. undefeated and No. 24 ranked Furman. Sections 225 and 228, which are normally part of the student section, will not be for the Furman game. Section 226 in the middle level, along with sections 119-121 in the lower level, will remain as student sections. Click here to view the men’s basketball seating chart. PMAC doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Friday night, with tipoff at 7:00 p.m. As a reminder, full time students with an overall GPA of 2.0 or better are admitted free to all men’s basketball home games by presenting their most recent LSUID at the student entrance.

Good! They're fricking lame for most games and are taking up space other louder fans can occupy.

Lol, the students aren’t near as loud as they should be. But don’t act like anyone else in the PMAC is cheering the way they should be. Whole place is dead most of the time

Our student section is absolutely embarrassing. I've never seen a college basketball SS sit for an entire game. I'd rather see those seats be sold to the public if their gonna do that

Seeing Houston's home crowd made me sad. Also, it was weird how the student section just organically cheered things instead of hoping and praying Neck would be played so they could curse in public.

It was their 3rd game in their brand new stadium of course they showed up. LSU needs to upgrade like UH did, the place was nice and served great food and beer.

Lol the entire building is a morgue during games, when I was a student and wasn’t sitting in the student section we would get the dirtiest looks for cheering during defense or getting up to celebrate a basket. This is one of the many reasons LSU won’t ever compete like it could/should in hoops.
