These two statements from the same post illustrates the problem with some of you. It's called situational awareness.

I'm on a message board. I can curse, dickhead. <--see, I did it there.

When you have thousands of students saying suck a dick on a national stage, then it becomes a problem.

I swear some of you people have no perspective.

The problem is that some people think that one word is bad and other words are good. Think about that. They are just fricking words but you give power to some by labeling them as "bad words." It is beyond stupid.

It may be but your opinion but it doesnt hold for everyone.

Thats isnt good imo

Yes because profanity on a message board and profanity from however many thousand screaming idiots on National tv is the same thing.

Yes it's an opinion. It's mine and most of the non-student population of Tiger Stadium. The "adults" on here that think it's funny obviously have some type of personality disorder or brain dysfunction.

While I agree with you to some extent, society still requires some protocol. I think we should be able to walk around naked whenever we please. Society disagrees.

Not really. You can curse and use racial slurs around your family and friends but do it on TV and you'll be ostracized.

I'm on of the most free minded people I know, I just realize how the country and the world works and understand that I'm in the vast minority.

What do you do about this my good crusader?

The student section sets the example. Stand the entire game! Get insanely loud during the opponents offensive sets. I can't stand seeing people sitting on their hands during a game. Stay home with your quiet arse and let someone who is going to make some noise go. Leave your wife at home, she doesn't give a shite about the game anyway.

The more upset "the grownups" become, the funnier it gets. Like in the Pink Panther movies, Clouseau being the same bumbling fool is just the set-up, it's the fact that he's driving his boss crazy that is the punchline.

There's a reason that the team gathers to sing the Alma Mater towards the SS at the end of home games...there's a reason that if we have to chose the ends of the field to play on, we pick the visitor having to march toward the SS when the chips are down...there's a reason the team tunnel is on the same side as of the stadium as the SS.

This! Student sections are part of what make college athletics what they are.

Apparently, it's a widely-held opinion in the SS that people with this opinion are precisely the reason it IS so funny.

Or maybe they genuinely don't mind, because drunk 20 year olds will always be drunk 20 year olds.

The goal is to get the administration to realize that no matter what they do, no matter what they take away, the students will do what they want.

Fantastic

So we'll have to drop TGBFTL and move to loud, piped-in music? Maybe the administration will break up the student section into parts? This has the real potential of not ending well.

When I was 18-22 and a student at LSU, I would've been with you. In the grown-up world, there is image and brand to manage. This is not a conspiracy to squash you by the man. This is an attempt to not have words like dick, bitch, arse, cock, etc. resounding from the student section of LSU on national TV. That's all.
