Etling is a superior QB. BH is not... yet.

Take your black and white sunglasses off and put your purple and gold ones on.

If the receivers weren't getting open on the bombs then I'd agree, but the plays are there to be had and Etling just needs to connect. Absolutely do not stop the bombs.

There were actually the perfect amount. He just overthrew them for some reason. I guess he needs more live reps this week

Bombs are absolutely essential. Even if we don't complete them. Otherwise the safeties will start creeping up and our run game suffers. By showing them that we're not afraid to throw the deep ball they have to keep the safeties back. Spreads the field vertically.

Even if they don't connect they loosen up the D. You run off a CB and Safety.

My problem with the long throws is when they are done on third down when we only need 5-7 yards. Cam was always doing this- choosing a low percentage play when continuing a drive is more important.

Done judiciously, throwing long is not bad. My guess is that Etling's timing with Chark or Dural will get better and we'll burn someone soon.

How do you better at it if you don't practice?
