Are you people serious? He hasn't coached a game yet and it's been 3 days. Just because he gets you excited doesn't mean he needs to run the whole program.

Can we stop with this?

I hope he does well as interim and he's doing what he needs to do. I get that he wants the job and is auditioning for it. But, after all of the success, the championships, the money, the stadium, recruiting, everything, if we are really wanting Coach O as the permanent coach, we are in a mess.

Nothing against Coach O as a person or coach, but let's aim higher, shall we?

If he wins out and the championship he will have something neither Saban or Miles when we hired them

Fact.

I highly doubt the people making the next hire are looking at him as #1, regardless of what he does.

If their #1 is Herman or Fisher, you go at them at all costs. If Coach O goes 7-1, you go after Herman/Fisher. You dont fire Miles and then abandon your plan because the team did well.

I hope he does well. If he goes 8-0 and wins the west, sure sign him up. Between 5-3 and 7-1 with good hard fought losses and he deserves consideration if both Herman and Fisher decline.

But there is still alot left. Obvious we'd have to win out but the playoffs aren't out of the equation yet. The Big 12 won't get anyone, ACC will get one of FSU/Clemson/Louisville, Big 10 will get one of Wisky/Michigan/OSU, and pac 12 maybe Stanford. They would take an 11-2 Sec champ over two teams from the same conference and a 1 loss Houston

I'm calm.

I think that Tigerdroppings might have more influence than you think - not in making a decision, but in shaping thought amongst the fanbase.

It can go either way.

I don't think anyone is saying definitively that he needs to run the whole program. People are excited about what he's bringing and you really can't fault the fans for being optimistic.

He did pretty well as an interim HC at USC. And that was at USC. Here he's home, I would think that he values that tremendously.

Let's see how he does before you condemn him.

You really think LSU should consider him if he goes 5-3? That's our standard now? If so then I fell sorry for Les.

I didn't condemn him. I'm all for him and hope he does well. I just don't want to make him the permanent head coach. I think we can get someone to take the program higher.

I thought adding 'fact' at the end of a post was for tidbits that people wouldnt know about. I think everyone under the sun knows this.

You think about it if he goes 8-0. Youre not spending millions on a buyout and plan to spend millions on a new coaching staff only to promote a guy already on the staff.

Stick to your guns no matter what the record or fanbase says.

I doubt that happens but if he runs the table, you have to give it to him, IMO.

But like I said, let's see how he does first.

I agree but I do think that's the general consensus among the fanbase.

If they lose to Alabama in a close game, OM in a close game and Arky/AM then yes. He will keep most of if not all of our recruits. I see no harm giving him a 3 year deal

I don't envision him as being LSU's head coach permanently, but I'm at least willing to give him a shot to prove himself this season before writing him off. How about you give him a fair audition before deciding he can't run this program?

Best thing to do is just observe how he does in the next 8 games without talking about him being a HC. He needs to be evaluated after 8 games not after 2 games, that is what decision makers will do and that is what fans should do.

And Coach O can't? You have no possible way of knowing that.

We have history to look at. And that history suggests that there are far better options.

He's going to get his 8 games, regardless, but don't act like Orgeron is a completely unknown quantity.

I am so excited. Can't wait till next season when we really get to see Head Coach O make all the right changes on offense! I haven't been this excited in a long time... Woohoo, can't wait.
