If Coach O runs the table 8-0, wins the SEC, 9-0, plus win a bowl, 10-0, he deserves to be a ft hc. No questions about it.

Miles had a career coaching record of 28-21 and had Oklahoma State heading in the right direction.

With his interim job at USC factored in, Orgeron has a 16–27 record and has not proven that he can run a program successfully.

In comparison to both Jimbo Fisher (75-15, 4 divisional championships, 3 conference championships, and a national championship) and Tom Herman (17–1 and a conference championship), his resume doesn't even remotely compare.

[Now, if we can't get either (which is certainly possible) and Orgeron has a special year, this conversation will be different.]

However, if you're suggesting that one's history doesn't matter at all, then we have nothing to discuss.

Are you people serious? He hasn't coached a game yet and it's been 3 days. Just because he gets you excited doesn't mean he needs to run the whole program.

Can we stop with this?

I hope he does well as interim and he's doing what he needs to do. I get that he wants the job and is auditioning for it. But, after all of the success, the championships, the money, the stadium, recruiting, everything, if we are really wanting Coach O as the permanent coach, we are in a mess.

Nothing against Coach O as a person or coach, but let's aim higher, shall we?

Amen. The infactuation with him just because he's from LA is what's really stupid. Too many people think that means something. It doesn't.

I look forward to Saturday Night so we can just watch some football and forget about this coaching shite for a little while. All of you experts on who the next coach will or should be is getting old.

I did see something that caught my eye. It was a comparison of Coaches and records.

Now in regards to Les, he is gone. So moving on to Ed Orgeron and his record. He didn't do well as Ole Miss but did step in as interim coach at USC and was 6-2. Plus I think he brings enthusiasm and it the best recruiter in all of college football.

Newsflash...Jimbo Fisher has said he loves FSU and is not leaving. So you numb nuts that keep bringing his name up are really in denial. The man is not coming here. He had great respect for Les and couldn't believe LSU would fire a coach with Les' record. So put the Fisher talk to rest.

Herman and his 17-1 record...okay who does Houston play? Yes they beat Oklahoma this year and won their bowl game last year against FSU. I'm not still convinced he is the ticket. And his spread offense may work now, but sooner or later that is going to fizzle. Then what. I'm not saying he is a bad coach, but I think its too early for me to get all that excited about the guy. And what makes all of you wanting him here think he wants to come here? I think Houston could keep him with deeper pockets. Just saying.

So I will just let the season play out. I'm pulling for Ed O. I hope he runs the table and brings us to the promised land.

So a coach with a slightly better than .500 record was taking us higher than Saban?

Who won conference and national championship? You miles lovers are the best

I do wish everyone would stop with the "should O be coach" crap until we see how the actual team PLAYS!!!

It's the dumbest discussion possible till then. Try to resist.

That was a different situation than now. We didn't fire Saban to go after someone better. Saban left us late, after many of the top candidates had already taken jobs.

Last time he was head coach, he went 8 or 9-0 and gisbolayers carried him off. The college let him go and hired a drunk and hasn't been relevant since.

Lots of posters are aiming lower, so your post is pretty much dumb.

I like how LSU fans think we have an elite football program, but apparently are perfectly content with giving Ed Orgeron the head coaching position. A guy that was fired from Ole Miss is who we're going to hire to take this program to the next level? Really?

If we're elite, we shouldn't even be considering Ed. If we want to be average, then I suppose Orgeron may in fact be the right choice.

The people pumping O for permanent HC are probably the same ones who wanted Aranda to be designated HC-in-waiting, before he ever coached a single down for us and even though he's never had one single second of HC experience.

It's a weird psychological phenomenon.

Cannot stand people like you. The man has been busting his arse all week to this program back to life, left no stone unturned to reinvigorate a fanbase, and all think about is "eh we won't get the job anyway. What's the use?" Man screw you and people like you

When Coach O was hired, many people, myself included, hoped he was being brought in and groomed to be the successor of Miles. If he does a great job with the remaining schedule, do you really see any reason we wouldn't be excited to have a home town boy as our head coach?
