no he was a redshirt FRESHMAN
oh yea Lee got a lot of time on the bench his "redshirt year". He was as experienced in gametime play as jefferson was when the season started. Only advantage he has was that he knew the playbook better. Was greg oden a "reshirt" rookie in the NBA also?

Lee sucked with an entire year in the system under his belt
a year on the bench and watching games really gives you an up on the incoming guy eh??. both had 0 experience. Lee had the playbook longer. thats it.

Yes without a doubt. Just another year of growing and working out in a college workout program is a big leg up. Let alone actually learning the playbook and getting snaps at practice

there is no substitute for in-game experience. i dont care who you practice against. you can only do so much in the weight room. if youre not on the field, you dont know what its like to be out there in the fire.

stop having the sun set in the West.
I agree with you,but you'd have as much luck turning the sun around.

jarrett lee is a fabulous passing QB

- in practice and in scrimmages.
there is a reason for that.
it is the same reason why he NEVER, EVER TRIED to tackle the guy coming back with the pass that he just threw - because, if he did try to tackle that guy, he might get blocked and that might hurt.

Ok that's fine, but don't act like the other things are not advantages either.

not really, he got hammered a number of times standing in the pocket...look at the hit he took on the TD to Mitchell in the Auburn game. Even if there is some truth to it, this dude has 32 posts and I bet 95% of them refer to this point, must be something to the obsession, aren't there other points related to LSU football that are interesting to discuss.

Lmfao..... leave britney alone........ that was the first thing that I thought of whenever i read this thread.... I have to admit that I was a Lee basher, but this is a good post.

he didn't make ANY effort to tackle anyone after the picks were going the other way.
he just trotted off to the sidelines.

so you were at those games and focused on Lee instead of the ball during those plays? The only one I saw live was the Auburn game, and I have no idea what Lee did after the pick, I was watching the play. I did see him take quite a few licks standing in the pocket though...

I'm 6'3 and a half inches.
I weigh over 265 lbs.
I might have been sacked 50 times because of my "lack of speed" but I would not have thrown
as many pick "sick-sis" as JL. Shut the f up. We can criticize as we see fit. We pay to watch him play. If he don't have thick skin and worries about what others say, he shouldn't be a Div. I Q.B. But guess what? I still love J. Lee. But he sucked horribly last year so don't try to sugarcoat it. You are also right saying the coaches should have altered the playbook for him but how do you alter a playbook when it's 3rd and 16 when we have to throw? The kid was HORRIBLE any way you want to look at it.

i must agree their is plenty enough blame to go around. with the play calling we used last season it made the qb look very bad at times and that was both qb's. i watched lee stuggle with the calls and jefferson as well. the calls in the gt game was very different than the season calls. there were some times when we went to the play calling during the season and you could see this when we beat auby and troy and even in the ark. loss. both these qb's we have will play good with the right play calls. i would like to see both lee and jefferson play in rotation next season. its always good to have two qb's with experience just in case one goes down.

I agree that JJ is a really talanted QB. JL is also a talented QB. Georgia Tech had no film to use in thier preperation of JJ. Although he played really good in the Bowl game dosent mean that he was always the best option to lead the Tigers to Victory on Saturdays. We have a coaching staff that we rely on to make those decesions. I trust that our coaches played the QB that they felt gave the Team a better chance to win.
