If we can't get Herman then Fedora should be the guy. I think Herman has a good chance of staying in Houston.

I would prefer Herman or fisher. My dark horse would be Todd
Monken.

Beat the piss out of Bama while at OSU as OC. Saban brought him in as a consultant for the offense after that for a day or so.

went 13-1 last year at Houston and beat Jimbo in a bowl game.

Just beat #3 OU handily.

He's a frickin' stud muffin.

The last time we went with a coach that was somewhat of a gamble, he brought LSU out of the ashes, his name was Saban. It's time to do it again and Herman is the man.

I tend to agree. Whatever happened with Fisher last year probably closed the door on that possibility. If LSU pulled out last second then Fisher probably doesn't want to entertain any further options. If Fisher got cold feet or demanded one last pay bump after the deal was essentially done then LSU probably just wants to look elsewhere.

Either would be phenomenal hires and the excitement level would be through the roof.

As I said yesterday, if Herman is so good that the NFL (or UT or ND or whoever) is trying to poach him in 4 or 5 years then you have made multiple CFP appearances and likely won a title. If you can get that type of success for 4 years, you take it and worry about another replacement at that time.

We have won 3 titles in the school's history, which means they come around once in a blue moon. If a coach can get a single title it is worth losing him immediately afterwards.

I'm joining Beefense's #Ride4Herman campaign.

Make him say no, then go after Fisher.

I agree I would take that 4 year stretch in a heartbeat. I just think Jimbo can have that success too, and as an AD if you think they both make you playoff contenders then longevity is a factor to consider also

As I said ultimately I would be happy with either. I just think Jimbo is less likely to make the jump, and I would hate to see people think that Herman leaving in 4 or 5 years is a reason not to hire him.

All I know is that Herman is a MENSA member.

Going from Miles to a MENSA coach would be an amusing change to say the least.

Just feel like Jimbo is more proven and is a great developer of quarterbacks. And Herman is just a hot name right this second. Do you guys agree?

Your right Herman is the hot name right now and Fisher is the better hire of the two. That being said I truly don't think that Fisher will ever come to LSU unless he washes out at FSU, which that could happen but how likely is it. I truly believe that Fisher was just using us to get a raise and extension and that is what his agent "Sexton" is a master at doing.

I think the more likelihood of Fisher leaving FSU would be if NFL came calling and he tried it and failed like Saban and then came back to the college ranks and then LSU would be a great destination if it were available.

But if this comes down to this upcoming year no way Fisher comes to LSU and I will take bets on that!!!

To me it is the Tom Herman sweepstakes and I hope our hat "pun intended" is thrown into that ring!!!

Jimbo is good and wouldn't be a bad move by any means. Jimbo is at his ceiling though and I wonder how long he wants to do this at the college level. Herman is a bit younger and could be the next Saban but is still a bit of a risk. He has won two games that he wasn't supposed to and plays in a below average conference at a school that should be well above average in that conference anyway.
