Just feel like Jimbo is more proven and is a great developer of quarterbacks. And Herman is just a hot name right this second. Do you guys agree?

I agree but we already have a thread specifically discussing this.

There are "hot" names every year. Herman isn't a hot name, he is pretty proven. But yes Jimbo has more experience as a head coach.

After the win against OU, Herman said something to the effect, "we train and plan to win, so this is not a shock to us"... damn I love that attitude and expectation.

I'd be fine with either. I want Herman

I would argue that Herman has been just as good at "developing" QBs as Jimbo.

Herman will be in the NFL in 5-6 years if he keeps this up. No matter where he's coaching college.

The point is that Herman is more than a hot name. "Hot name" leaves the door open to the possibility of being unproven.

Beat the piss out of Bama while at OSU as OC. Saban brought him in as a consultant for the offense after that for a day or so.

went 13-1 last year at Houston and beat Jimbo in a bowl game.

Just beat #3 OU handily.

He's a frickin' stud muffin.

Herman has been a hot name for a while now. Basically ever since Cardale Jones happened people have thought of him as a legit big time HC candidate (understanding it may take a few years to get there).

I guess there is a chance his success has all just been a fluke, but he has won a number of big games, and those wins haven't been flukes or trick plays. His UH teams has played straight up against some of the biggest names in CFB and won.

If we land either of those two coaches LSU fans should ecstatic.

This is my only concern with him, to be honest. Where as, with Jimbo or Fedora, I feel like they would be here for the long haul.

His NFL interest would be a big factor in deciding between the two if I'm the AD.

Both can win big, and have experience recruiting this area.

Either way you throw the bank at both of them. If we don't get jimbo? I'd undoubtedly still love Herman even if only for 4-5 years

What people outside of Houston don't know is the amount of energy and press he has brought to their program. He works his arse off on this and the amount of press and attention they get is light years beyond where it was. It's not only because of Xs and Os.

This dude can become what Saban is now. Hell last year he lost his top two qb in a game and his 3rd string guy came in and was running the offense flawlessly. 2 star talent.
