Yeah, Ensminger had more than a few fights in his days at LSU. I saw several of them outside Fred's, though it was called FAP's in those days.
Yea, me too. My Frat brother won Rounds 1 and 3 against him.

The best thing is get out front on it. Say the players involved are on suspension until further notice, then re-instate them as you clear them. If that's in time for them to play v. Oregon, fine. If not, then I'm OK with that, too. Those that cannot be cleared will stay suspended until the courts decide what to do.
Hmmm, I thought we lived in a country where the law states an individual is innocent until proven guilty. However, this guys comments state otherwise.

If JJ kicked a marine in the head on the ground he should be straight out expelled not suspended.
It does not matter if the person was a marine or not

Agreed Tang. People keep throwing up this allegation as if we should car that a Marine got his arse wooped in stead of another student.
The marine should have at least been capabhle of putting up a defense.

If JJ kicked a marine in the head on the ground he should be straight out expelled not suspended. I would rather lose with class
ETA: IF JJ actually hit or kicked anyone. The story is not passing the smell test. There is a story out that includes a statement by a female witness claiming JJ was not hit, did not hit nor kick anyone.

Maybe. But you ever try to get to the bottom of a bar fight with witness interviews? Say there are 100 people there. 30 are three sheets to the wind. 10 are in the bathroom. 50 of them had no vantage point and could not see what happened. That leaves ten witnesses, all with different loyalties, eyesight, panic level, whatever. No, I buy that it is not yet clear what actually happened.

Well, since only the sober ones can even make a statement to police to begin with, I'd say 1 out of 10 is about right.

quote:Uniform or not, if a service member gets involved in a fight they are fair game. I am a vet who never expected any special treatment for the uniform I wore. If I jumped into a fight, I expected swings to come my way. The armed forces debate is irrelevant here.

It's called due process and student privacy.
also, there have been fights in the "old days" that landed players in trouble. Art Cantrell comes to mind.

Straight out of the Bobby Bowden playbook..."Now son, I know you raped that girl last night, so you are going to have to walk, instead of run out with the rest of the team for opening kickoff at tomorrow's game"

Maybe I am an old fart but I remember when it wasn't such a big deal to be involved in a bar fight.
I'd agree with you if this was some romantized boys-will-be-boys, take-it-outside to settle the score kind of thing. That would be my idea of a regular bar fight. But if it was 20 guys jumping on a driver and his friend, not so much.

The law is one thing, but Miles has the right to suspend/dismiss/discipline as he sees fit.
