I think he had Alleva or someone in football office write it and he pawned it off as his own.

Since it's Herb Vincent's job I'm pretty sure he wrote it.

Maybe I am an old fart but I remember when it wasn't such a big deal to be involved in a bar fight. If it was a disagreement between individuals then this is not the first time this has happened and won't be the last. If a group of players jumped an individual they deserve the consequences of their actions. I know in this day and age players have to be smarter than this but it is not like there was theft or murder or driving 118 MPH on the interstate after smoking a little weed from what little I have read.

"Hospitalized with minor injuries" I think that's the part that puts it above your average bar fight.

Guys -that's what media relations professionals do for a living. (they do it with the Office of the General Counsel looking over their shoulder). No executive ever writes their own statements.

Les in Atlanta December 1 2007 was an exception to this rule!

I think he showed up late and tried to pay off the victims with counterfeit c-notes.

I really hope not. That would be the worst thing LSU could do. It's already out there. Everyone knows something happened - just like the RP brawl.

The best thing is get out front on it. Say the players involved are on suspension until further notice, then re-instate them as you clear them. If that's in time for them to play v. Oregon, fine. If not, then I'm OK with that, too. Those that cannot be cleared will stay suspended until the courts decide what to do.

I don't want this to turn into a deal where the reputation of the program is tarnished. Right now, it's pretty good.
