OL is a position I NEVER keep up with, so someone tell me how I should feel about this.

Geez, is Campbell done at this point or were the 2 true freshmen just that much more impressive?

Wow. So it will be a true freshman at RG. Kind of surprised it's not Cushenberry.

We have good backups but short on depth

Although if our injuries are so bad that people down the depth chart are playing meaningful snaps then the season is likely lost anyhow

Honestly not trying to be a smart arse. Even with the Saints, someone could tell me a player was all world or a dumpster fire, and I'd probably agree every time. I know it's a vital position, but I just don't keep up with it.

That was a serious post though. If one of the freshman OL has to start, then the depth is about as bad as expected.

He has been fighting injuries but is interesting that he isn't even mentioned anymore. Cush has been passed as well by 2 freshman after being so highly talked about.

What happened to Adrian Magee ? I was under the impression he was the likely starter at RG.

With Cush, it might be that he will focus on center and be the center for Brennen and Junior when they get in the game. Let's be optimistic, just maybe Ingram and Charles are just that good and have outdistanced Deculus. Freshmen do play if they are good enough.

He's the backup at center

This may be some wisdom coming from Grimes, too - why all the shuffle? I know we're thin, depth-wise, but why not keep Deculus at OT if he projects there? Why not keep Clapp at C with Cush as his backup? Why not let guards play guard?

What am I missing?

So in reality, after we heard about Clapp being able to stay at Center due to Cushenberry's emergence opposite of Tehuma at Guard during the Spring, it turns out that with Tehuma gone also, he's essentially 3rd string, which would've put him-at best-4th string if Tehuma were here?

That's one helluva spectacular fall from grace since the Spring.

I'm glad he's the backup at Center but if that's how far down the depth chart he is at RG after an offseason and Fall Camp, we need to recruit some 5-Star Center Prospects. Either that or we need to examine the reports coming out of Spring Ball. Probably both.
