From L to R, Faulk/Collins, Josh, PJ, Will B, Hurst.

Hurst too slow to play LT. I think Faulk has the early advantage, but Collins is a freak and much more athletic so I could definitely see him taking over. The rest of the line will be solid. I think Will Blackwell is going to make a huge difference next year and we will run the ball even better because of our experience and size at guard.

Am I the only person on all of TigerDroppings who actually likes Shaw's potential for next year?

No Shaw looked very good when it matters this year. We finally have real depth on Oline again

Do you really think that Collins will stick around for five years? Not that I disagree with you otherwise.

Not at all. I'm undecided on who should start. Not enough evidence. Never thought Collins was a 5 year guy. Maybe so, doubt it.

If Hurst is as slow as some are saying, then I think this could be the lineup:

Left to Right

LC
Blackwell
PJ
Hurst
Faulk

I was thinking that Blackwell and Hurst may actually wind up being our best Guards. But I don't think there's any way Josh D would be the best LT. Though he might actually be a better Tackle than Guard with his length. I know he's a SR, and already a 2-year starter, but I'm not sure Josh D shouldn't be our most versatile backup. Be able to play 4 or even all 5 OL positions. He'd be very good--and valuable--in that role. But I want our starters to just fricking maul motherfrickers. And next year, we'll have the guys to do it.

Old Sarge is certainly right--I would feel much better if a new OL coach is found to help figure this out and other concerns on the OL. I thought that a pretty close second to getting rid of Crowton was to give Stud his walking papers. Too much playing time to lesser talented linemen and very poor knowledge & teaching of technique are not things that should be tolerated from an OL coach. I hope the new OC would have some input on his successor, along with Miles. With Collins, White, Simon, on the way a better OL coach is a necessity.

Collective agreement here that we (1) finally have depth and (2) Stud is not beloved.

I'd say Faulk. You can't expect a true freshmen to come in and contribute no matter how highly ranked. If they do it's gravy, but you can't depend on it.

Our line was the strength of this years offense. Finished fourth in the sec in rushing. DESPITE a QB who can't audible, or tell the difference between man and zone coverage. Lsu consistently say 8 man fronts and still ran the ball and protected a scattered brain qb.

Yards/G
1 Auburn 14 652 3987 6.12 41 46.57 284.79
2 Mississippi State 13 620 2806 4.53 29 47.69 215.85

We were better this year than in '09, but let's not get carried away here. I'm not sure it was a "strength." I'm not sure we had one save for Ridley. And Jasper.

This doesn't look bad. Like with anything, the off season will tell who wants the jobs. Shaw and T-Bob are a couple in the mix.

Balckwell, Shaw, T-Bob and JD will be the Sr's next year. Good playing time with this group. Could playout real good.

Do you know this from experience (or from reliable sources) or are you pulling this out of your anus?

Who would you recommend play instead (more talented linemen)?
