When Stanley was playing for the Clippers, he was so undisciplined in his private life that he had seven people living in his house but he rented an apartment to actually live in.

In Eighth Grade, he scored six points for the other team to start the second half of a basketball game because he couldn't remember that the teams change goals after halftime.

Because the year everyone complains about (89-90) we got eliminated by a final four Georgia tech team with the same amount of lottery picks but all with 2-3 years experience while ours save jackson were just freshman.

We only had one year with Shaq, Roberts and Jackson. Jackson was a soph, Shaq was a true FR and Roberts was a RS Fr. They were very talented but young and a little lacking in discipline. Also they were a little weak in their perimeter defense and vulnerable to a good 3 point shooting team.

... And right around this time was when players started leaving early for the NBA. Man, if this team could have stayed together 4 years ... But it disintegrated almost as quickly as it was assembled.

Yes that was a time when LSU was as talented as anyone...Shaq and CJ almost did this with just the two of them, but their were other good players as well.

In his book, Shaq said that many a nite, Roberts would just be coming in from partying when he & others were leaving for class. He said Brown went as far as to have a key made, giving him access to Robert's dorm room, and he took to waiting up for Roberts to come in. Shaq said nothing worked & Roberts just did not care & did his own thing all the time. One of the worse practice players Shaq ever had on one of his teams.

Stanley used to hang out at north gate liquor (no longer there) on Nicholson. He did not give a shite about bettering himself as a player.

It's probably Les' fault somehow.

The Greg Cook led Final Four team would have beaten the Shaq led team. The key word being team.

I remember once seeing Stanley at the restaurant right outside the south gates of LSU, can't remember the name of it (Shennanigans or something). The place had these huge drinks that came in a fishbowl looking thing with 4 straws for 4 people to drink it. Stanley was sitting a table with couple other people drinking one by himself Really nice guy though.
