Or if they did go, their mind is not solely on the game, but what they have to do to get their lives back to normal, so leaving early from what looked like a blowout is no big deal these days. Far bigger issues for many people around BR than LSU football.
And then there's that as well. Great point.
"I know you have to hang sheetrock all day tomorrow, but how fricking DARE you leave early!"

If it is so stupid then why the frick havent we done crap in the second half of the past two games. It is because Les goes in the locker room and doesnt give two shits about putting more points on the board if he has a lead. People hate Nick Saban but the man bitches when he beats a team by 28 points cause he knows his team is capable of doing more. I want to see us go in at halftime and come out in full force not just let the defense shut them down and us give the ball right back cause we left our first half playbook in the locker room
Go back and watch both second half of the game and watch another from last year when we went in with a huge lead. Watch the play calling. There is huge differences between the two and even an average fan should be able to tell this. If you want to blame Les for failing to motivate the team going into the second half, fine. But to blame the second half's lack of scoring on the play calling was a stupid statement on his part and is no more intelligent when you state it.

I'm so damn sick of hearing about the heat
I gather you are on the young side and have no problems with the heat. Let's wait until you get into latter middle age/older age and revisit that "pussies statement" again. Older folks do not tolerate heat like younger ones do.
Another thing is that those gamedays have gotten damned expensive in terms of what season tickets cost, parking costs, concessions, and for many those gamedays practically turn into a weekend, which costs even more. When you are putting two kids through college, you have to make some choices. I have been an LSU football fan for right at 50 years. For me, the magic of TS is not what it once was. There have been too many efforts to make college games like the NFL (which I am not a big fan of at all). Between the commercialization, piped in music, inflated concessions, inflated ticket prices, I would just as soon take most of the games in at home in an AC den, more comfortable seating, and a nice steak and trimmings. It's a lot cheaper and a lot better. Schools like LSU have gotten into bidding wars for coaches and players, and in the process practically priced themselves out of the market for many folks who have other priorities demanding more of their attention and checkbooks. In some ways, LSU has reached the tipping point for many. If you're young, don't have many obligations, no kids, then fine. Go for it and enjoy it while you can as the day will come that you, too, will have to make some choices.

This time of year it is just to hot in the stadium for all the alcohol people have in there system, concessions are expensive as all hell, the restrooms are hot as hell, the sweaty hangover occurrence, the swamp arse from sweating all day and then sitting on metal bleachers really makes the walk back to the truck a pain when you have to walk spread eagle for a mile. All in all I love being in tiger stadium but this time of year with the humidity it is just easier to sit at home drink beer and cook while sitting in a recliner watching the game in the AC. I can honestly say i stayed this past weekend till there was 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter but it was miserable. I always complained about people leaving early but I dont disagree now especially knowing CLM is going to come out flat in the the second half and try to sit on a lead if he has one
Translation: I'm that guy.

I'm sure it's been said before.
1. Tailgating sucks. They need to go back to 1st come 1st served for parking. More than half of the on campus paid for spots were empty vs Moo State. This is the number one cause of attendance. It's a few more dollars to the University but it's killed all the fun.
2, Contra-flow. They need to station police at all lights from campus to the interstates. if they kept the flow going, the time to exit after a game would drop significantly.
3. Implement a texting system like Tennessee has for belligerent / way too drunk fans. We left right after halftime as the woman behind us puked all over the place. If i could have gotten her taken away sooner we would have stayed.

A a student I think the student section is much to blame. Most students I know leave by halftime, which is a damn shame. A lot of the older kids leave early so they can get to the bars. I'm not sure if this has been a problem before but as a kid I remember the student section being full for the post game singing of the Alma Mater.
I can't tell you how many people asked me when i was leaving to go meet them out. When I said i would leave after the alma mater almost everyone of my friends asked why

I agree with the logic you've provided except I don't understand why people go to the game in the first place if they don't want to be hot, wet, hungover, stuck in traffic, swamp arse infected....
I too don't want to deal with any of those things so I just stay home and watch the game on my TV with my beer and my food until such time there's a game that comes along that I want to go to. I also realize that I'm a spoiled bitch but I see it as I'm giving someone else the opportunity I used to kill for.... Sitting in TS!

For those of us who were students in the past, college students really haven't changed that much over the years. They go to the game, they want to drink, they're in heat and they want to frick. You can do a little drinking at the game, but you want privacy with your mate when fricking, so they leave and go frick. Simple as that.

I left in the 3rd quarter when houston was kicking our arse by 27 pts. By the time i made it to the bridge kevin faulk went beast mode and we won in the minutes. Since then it seems that when we r losing in the 4th quarter i leave and take one for the team and we usually win. So i will continue until it does not work anymore. I am a true tiger fan

There's no doubt the last few years have been lean. If you're comparing us to Alabama or Ohio State or Clemson or Florida St, we're Certainly not getting it done the last few years.
But comparing us to college football as a whole, LSU has certainly been a power for the last 15 years. Even "lean years" to us LSU fans, there are over 100 other programs that would love to have a 9-3 type season that we've been having.

It's ok when they leave. I move down to seats closer to the field.

Aging in-stadium fanbase
Not sure I agree with this. They(we) have been coming for years and know what it's like to have a full stadium and not as concerned with some of the "conveniences" a lot younger folks seem to need.
And I'll never understand the "have been tailgating all day and are tired/drunk" argument . I guess it's a matter of priorities. I thought the football game was the point. Just a lot more casual fans now days, I suppose.
