Why don't more LSU fans go to the spring game?
because we're smart.
I agree. It's a glorified practice. The " Spring Game " is over rated. Our fanbase will be ready and rabid come September.
The biggest reason is LSU baseball is important to our fans and I think most fans disconnect from football until baseball is over.

I got a television set back in '96 and it's been turning my universe upside down ever since.

In reality, it's not really a game. It's just a controlled scrimmage that doesn't mean anything and has been watered down considerably since Coach Senioritis arrived.
An effort was made on the part of a large group of fans to 'amp up' things in Miles' first season. We contacted Stanley Bertman's athletic department with our plans, and they discouraged us from doing anything more than what was already planned.
Apparently, LSU doesn't want it to be anything.

So outside of reality its really a game and means something? Sorry, i'm just wondering why everyone has to check out of reality to see that

A lot reasons. Mainly it isn't Football season for us and unlike 99% of America, we actually care about our college baseball team.

IMHO JJ doesn't practice very well.

Spring game isn't something a lot of people get excited about, unless you are a fan of Ohio St and Alabama, and are trying to show how awesome a fan you are by passing up on a nice spring game to watch a glorified practice, one that is on TV most likely.

I was there, and there were at least 30K in the stands. All of the P&G section was fairly full on the West side, and most of it was full on the East side. My guess was 30 to 40K.
My buddy has been to a bunch of them, and he said this one drew the most he had ever seen before.

I went to the Spring Game. I'm an alumnus and as passionate of an LSU football fan than just about anyone I know. Nice to be on campus and enjoy it but until they make it a little more explosive and bigger scale the big crowds will not come. Gotta bait the traps. Lots to do in in the beautiful state of Louisiana at this time. Huge TAF coinciding crawfish boil that you could optionally charge for? Bigger name entertainment? Larger scale fanfair type platform to interact with current and former players? Ask the Athletic Dept. Gift Shop how they did. Think they won't stock more for next year? Enjoyed it, but next year will go to the French Quarter Fest and DVR.

The problem with the spring game is it is like a rent a win game...we dont show much you know that LSU will win. NOt dramtaic enough. Okay so you go to get autographs...if you are not an auto graph collector, why go?

The club seats were pretty full

Because it is just not that interesting anymore. Plus, it is on ESPN so people will be watching it at home instead.
Alabama and all those other schools have a big turnout because...well, it is ALABAMA! There is nothing to do there. Besides football season, this is the next big thing in the area. So, of course, 90,000 fans will be there! Just sayin
