# of post has nothing to do with logic a-hole! There are many people on the site who have a love for Les that makes no sense. Just because we got lucky that year we won the NC people think he's a great coach. I'm pretty sure any idiot could have coached us to a NC that yr.

Wussies. All they did was jump on the anti-Miles bandwagon and split the difference between 2008 & 2009.

In a clinical setting, this phenomenon would be labeled "denial." And so it may be. But then we'll all find out for sure soon enough.

To some people being the Head Coach at LSU is like thye Pope. On football matters they thinks he's infallible.

Les Miles team is trending up...7-5 (3-5) in 2008 and 9-3 (5-3) in 2009. I like this trend better. 11-1 (7-1) Sec in 2010....SEC Coach of the Year.

Oh I agree....actually we got lucky three years in a row with top 5 finishes...which equals over 40% of the total top 5 finishes lsu has ever had. I also agree, any idiot could have done that. There really isn't any other teams out there with equal or better talent that also think they should be winning bigtime...lmao. DUMBASS

Don't you just fvcking love it????

DID HE REALLY SAY ANY IDIOT COULD HAVE COACHED LSU TO A NATIONAL TITLE IN 2007 !?!?!?!

Sounds like somebody needs to lay down the crack pipe.....

Reality Check Time, Children: Les Miles knows more about the game of football than you ever have, do now, or ever will- even if you lived to be 1000. Got it? Got it.

Go home. Your village just called looking for their idiot.

You'd also have to explain to the coaches why you fired a guy who won a national championship less than 5 years ago and has consistently recruited top 10 classes.

No you wouldn't. If Les is fired, it will be because he had a third crappy year in conference and proved that the great record 05-07 had more to do with the quality of competition and the quality of the program he inherited than it did with his coaching ability.
I don't want any coach who isn't keen enough to watch Miles coach and not see why he might get fired despite his early success here.

The question is, who the hell do you want to get?

When Saban left us with a team considered far and wide to be a top 5 program, we went and got a guy from Okie State who few of us knew much about. Now, 6 years later, at a point when we are no longer even in any national conversation as to who's going to win the SEC, you're scared that we can't find somebody as good as Les?

If we go 4-4 in the SEC again this year, after all of these supposedly great recruiting classes, it will be b/c we have a less disciplined, less focused team led by coaches who aren't as good as the ones on the other side of the field. At that point, I have a hard time seeing how any of you would really be scared to lose Les Miles.

I am a Miles defender, but in no way do I think he can do no wrong. Has he made mistakes? Hell yea. What coach hasn't? Has he let a team drive 80 yards in two plays with only 20 seconds or so on the clock to keep us out of the SEC title game? Has he let yet another team score on us as time ran out to cost us a bowl victory? Has he lost to the likes of ULM or UAB?

One thing I give Miles credit for is that he hasn't stood pat. He has addressed problems on the team. He got rid of RP - tough decision, but good move. He replaced the co-defensive coordinators after the debacle that was 2008 with Chavis and the defense showed marked improvement right away. This year, he has brought in offensive coaches who should help improve the WR and O-line play.

My question is, what the hell are you Miles bashers gonna do if the team wins 10 regular season games this year? My guess is you'll find something about those two losses that, in your feeble minds, are fireable offenses.

If LSU ends up having a dismal season this year, then I'd agree that something has to be done. So far, while I'm disappointed with the results the last two seasons, I haven't seen evidence that firing him is warranted.

It's kinda weird but the more I read these types of articles and posts, the more excited I get for the season to get here to see if the TIGERS can defy the predictions.

I gotta give Miles props on this, no doubt it was a tough decision. But his handling of the QB situation since RP left has been shady at best. And could possibly lead to his firing. You can't screw up when recruiting QBs.

He had no choice, the co-dc was a bad idea and it was obvious he promoted two guys who were totally underqualified to take over the position. Huge mistake on Miles' part, and the timing was awful. Right after RP was booted and we had a redshirt FR QB start, the last thing we needed was an experiement on defense.

Only after one of the worst offenses in LSU history, he HAD to do something.

I will be thrilled if Miles wins 10 games this year. And I would hope he is able to establish this program to play consistently for 4 quarters (not whenever they feel like it). Which is probably my biggest complaint against Miles, bring it for all 4 quarters consistently like we did against Auburn in 2009, LSU has the potential to play that way week in, week out. and by all means tell Crowton to stop giving up on drives. If Miles gives it his all, gets LSU to play hard and tough for 4 quarters, and plays his best players, then you really can't ask for more. Problem is, he hasn't been doing those things lately.

I guess my biggest concern is that Les will get run off even if he does win 9 games this year. High expectations are terrific. I have them for LSU every year, but to expect nothing less than a championship every year is simply unrealistic.

The mighty $$$$$ didn't do it when he was here, and, if you look at his records, he was even more inconsistent that what we have now.

Good lord, people. Les' WORST season was a 7-5 train wreck that ended with the complete domination of a team that was supposed to run up and down the field on us.

LSU won 9 games last year, and that's not good enough for a lot of people because we looked bad doing it. What if we had beaten Penn State in that God-awful mess somehow and not squandered the Ole Miss game? The record would have been a lot better but we still would have look awful because of a terrible offense.

What do you people want? You want Florida State-like domination (like the 'Noles did to the ACC in the 90s) and nothing short of that? Get real folks. It won't happen for LSU, and it ain't happenin' for Bama or Florida or any other SEC team either.

My guess is too many of you don't remember the 1990s, otherwise known as LSU's "Lost Decade." We would have killed to play .500 ball. 9 wins? Pipe dream. 10 wins? Too much to even think about. Hell, for most of those years, LSU was lucky to sniff 5 wins a season.

All I'm saying is "Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it." See Notre Dame.

Please let the season start now! I'm so ready for something new to talk about. Why don't we just pretend they actually have played a game already...

"Did you see that run by Ford?"
"Oh yeah... He's a beast!"
"...And that hit by Peterson!"
"Did he really take that guys head off?"
"Oh yeah, Brah! It was rolling around by the 25 yard line. The ref wouldn't touch it."
"I wouldn't either."
"Is that guy gonna be okay?"
"Yeah. I'm sure they give him a medical redshirt."
"What about that move by Shep?"
"Awesome! Shep wiggled and the other guys pants fell off."
"Freakin sweet!"

They took advantage of a shitty USC team whos head coach knew he was gone at the end of the year anyways. Its not like they don't play the same cupcakes that the rest of the Pac-10 plays also.

He also beat USC in 2007 vaulting us into number one in the polls. USC wasn't shitty then and had a 35 game home winning streak going.
