2. A one-loss Alabama making the top four is a joke
No. 4 Alabama is the only one-loss team that cracked the committee’s top four, but its selection is a bit of a head-scratcher. The Crimson Tide lost to an Ole Miss squad that has since dropped two games of its own. Meanwhile, they boast only one win over another team in the current top 25 (No. 19 Texas A&M).

Is Alabama really a top-four team? Why is it better than No. 10 Florida, which is also 7–1 but lost to No. 2 LSU and beat the Ole Miss team that topped the Crimson Tide? At this point is feels like coach Nick Saban’s team isn’t penalized for losses like other programs. Alabama could go on to win the SEC title, but the selection committee is supposed to assess the landscape of the season up to this point. That’s why ranking the Crimson Tide as a top-four team at this juncture doesn’t pass the smell test.

It's our turn to shut the Gumps down once and for all this season. I can't take anymore of this

And shut the Media obsession down as well. But they will figure some way to get a 2 loss Bama team into the playoffs in the end. You watch.

The amount of intellectually dishonest deflection by Bama fans has been unprecedented. At the end of the day, LSU simply needs to beat Bama to shut everyone up.

My thread on the SECr from Monday
Makes 0 sense. There is no logical reason to put Bama #4. It validates that the committee is either biased or manipulates their rankings to generate TV ratings.

Well said, IMHO. They very well could win out and be more than deserving of a spot. But at this point, putting them in the top-4 is a joke. Classic Bama treatment.

I know LSU fans always like to consider where someone went to college when evaluating how well they do their job in an unbiased fashion (even if they are completely wrong about where that person actually went to college). With that in mind, consider where Zac Ellis went to college when determining his unbiased opinion of Bama.

For the record, it really doesn't matter to me where Bama was ranked. As long as it was top 10 all they have to do is win out and they'll be in playoff.

What a horrible anecdotal argument.

The funniest thing is, it would be in the purely selfish interests of LSU fans to have Bama ranked as high as possible at the time we play them. The fact that they think any LSU fan daring to question why they are ranked number 4 constitutes a "melt" says so much more about them and their whacked thought processes than it does anything else.

It's up to the players now. They need to win comfortably, and move the ball through the air to create more run opportunities for Fournette.

You are absolutely right. LSU still controls its own destiny. What has Tiger fans worried is that it looks as if they have a lot more to lose Saturday than Alabama.

How so? LSU fans like to say that Ritter is biased toward Bama because he is an alum (he's not, he grew up in Texas and went to Rice) or b/c his daughter goes to Bama (she doesn't), or b/c he has business partners who went to Bama (he doesn't. there are 5 officers in his company counting him and none went to Bama).

Yet when a guy named Zac Ellis, who went to Tennessee, writes an OPINION piece, we aren't allowed to think his personal bias my influence his opinion?

Sure, but he is backing it up with facts. He isn't just stating perceptions. There is a logical argument, and it paints a sad picture.
