Basketball has 5 players on the court.
Dude broke SEC records and national records.
Basically, he had to average 25/15/10 and then people would have been satisfied? Do people realize how impossible that is? Guy put up INSANE numbers.

Basically saying that we had enough talent on the court with Simmons that there was no excuse for that. I've been blaming Jones more than any other LSU coach in the past decade because of this. Had the team advanced in the tourney and looked competitive, Jones may've been able to recruit another top prospect. Instead, we ran few set plays and looked very lost. No top prospect will want to play for him after witnessing that. LSU football scored 20 more points in their last game than the basketball team in theirs.
I'm thankful Simmons played here and wanted to be a legend for a school not named Duke or Kentucky, but it didn't pan out that way because of Jones and the bad team chemistry that ensued under his tutelage.

The poster is saying Ben doesn't embody LSU because he had to go somewhere and the ONLY reason he came here was because hs godfather was on staff. Without David Patrick, Ben doesn't give LSU one second of consideration.

Thats my point. Any lsu athlete embodies lsu. The timing of their departure is irrelevant. Some may embody lsu more than others but they all embody lsu.

The NBA isn't nearly as physical of a league as it was in the 90s. It's a lot more about finesse and outside shooting than big bodies banging around in the paint.
