"one of the best DC's in the country"
Really?
Look. There are certainly gripes to be had about Chavis' defense. I would happily list them. And, there are certainly better DCs in the country.
But, you can't just ignore that LSU has been a statistically highly rated defense every year Chavis has been here, even in his "bad" year and you can't deny that there was IMMEDIATE improvement from the abortion that was Malveto.
So, I think that qualifies as "one of the best" unless you're defining "one of the best" as one of the two or three best.

quote:Yeah, didn't you know this? Everybody knows that what ever goes wrong is always blamed on Miles. Gosh, I thought everyone was aware of this.
So Miles is responsible for contract negotiations now?

No way we give Chavis 1.7 MM...if you want that, stop Bama in '12 and '14 on their last drive. And many others from consistently moving the ball off their own goal line.

Does anyone ever remember Miles firing a coordinator? Chavis is gone because Miles wanted it. He let's all assistants leave instead of being let go.
I know it sounds crazy to let your DC go when your offense sucks, but that's the way I see it.

What I heard from a reliable source was if miles would've taken the job at Michigan alleva was gonna offer the HC job to Cameron. The chief felt disrespected that alleva was not gonna offer it to him. Bottom line is the chief and alleva did not like each other at all.

How do we get Alleva to not like Miles? lol

To me, Coach Chavis wasn't very good in the clutch. He made poor calls IMO during ND's last drive yesterday and ditto for Bama in 12 and 14. His defenses has been good but not great. And he doesn't recruit so maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised how this turns out. I wish him the best though...just not on Thanksgiving Week.

Wouldn't it be ironic if we have the ball down 3 with 2 minutes to go next yr vs aTm
