While our defense and offense look to be making some strides, our special teams are an absolute joke and will cost us in a big game:

1. Kickoff out of bounds- how many times are we going to allow this kid to kick it out of bounds after a score. It cost us the Alabama game 2 years ago. Is it that hard to find a kicker to kick the ball in play. This is a huge momentum swing that right after you score you give the other team one hell of a start to try and answer.

2. Missed extra point- no clue how this even happens other than the team not focusing.

3. Onside Kick- it looks like we had never even practiced this.

Good luck finding a kicker who can consistently pooch it to the corner without it ever going out of bounds.

Blocked kicks happen, probably shouldn't on an EP though.

We looked great on kickoffs, started them behind the 20 a lot, average starting position was less than touchback probably

It was blocked, not missed

We had our hands team, they played the ball well, it was a perfect kick...I don't know what else you think we could do

We punted it lights out

Saw Growden boom a 36 yarder, trot off the field and get a fist bump from Peveto. Championship.

I felt that State got a lot of breaks on the field and with the booth. If you remember the kick out of bounds, it bounced out when the Miss guy let it go. If it bounces differently, they are inside the 10, but it's a football. It's pretty unpredictable on the bounce.

The missed XP I think was a botched hold, judging by Colby's reaction. Onside kicks are a crapshoot, and theirs just took the right bounce. I'm glad we cut out the rugby style punting with Growden, he's much better with his feet set.

The LSU player on the 2nd line moved too far up and did not maintain the correct spacing which allowed the ball to go over his head.

Teams have found a weakness in the LSU XP blocking and are exploiting it. 2 blocked XP in 3 games is an issue.

Overall a basic lack of focus and attention to detail.

Could have called a time out we were out numbered 6 to 4 I believe. Kick was executed perfectly but LSU wasn't set up to handle it.

It seems that a team is rarely gonna he stopped more than 5 or 6 yards behind the 25 on a kickoff. LSU is taking a big gamble to potentially save 5 or 6 yards.

Dude averaged 49 yards on 5 punts. Find something else to bitch about.

Huh? Then they shift again. Or they just turn and kick other way, or they go up the middle.

A timeout? OMG

And we had 5 uo, two on the line and three back five yards. Classic

Anybody downvotimg our PK game is delusional to the highest degree. There's no excuse for a top program to have 2 XP misses in first 3 games-- it's not NFL distance.

And the KO's OOB every damn game are acceptable to y'all? You must love mediocrity and thin that these kind of mistakes will fly against top tier competition

Where is the post that says the "Dude nutted a 60+ harder in the freaking clutch?" I do not disagree with some of this, but man, they had excellent coverage.

LSU's starting field position in the second half:

L13
L29
L07
L01
L19

State AVERAGED a starting field position of their own 40 in the second half. LSU got killed on punt exchanges for most of the night. Those are the sort of battles Miles used to quietly kill teams on, and now the tables have definitely turned. By far this team's biggest outstanding issue is the punt game. LSU has been getting killed on field position (even the Wisconsin game LSU had huge issues in the 2H with terrible start positions).

It's a gamble a ton of teams make if they can kick it high enough.

There are stats you can look at if you wanted. Last night we probably were +20-25 yards

we averaged about 10 yds more per punt

Yes we had terrible FP but you think it was punt exchanges?

One blocked EXP is a fluke. 2 of them in 2 games is something entirely different.

The corner kick helped LSU and hurt them last night. That's a coaching decision.

One down inside the 1 and a 60 yd boom when it counted. How many punt return yards did they have?
The people dog cussing left when it mattered.

Last night there was one touchback, one kick out of bounds, and then MSU started on their 19,18, and 19.
