They address a lot of questions I've seen here. Pitching, weather etc.

If they have to play potentially two tomorrow there's no way the NCAA sends them to play on Friday. Almost a guaranteed Sat/Sun/Mon

Was just told by bro-in-law (USM grad) that if State wins tonight, and the second game cannot be played tonight or tomorrow then State would automatically advance

How is that possible

He doesn't know what he is talking about... Committee elects who goes if the losses are even, and the committee will select the higher seed.

No, he's not.

USM is the #1 seed in that Regional.

Southern Miss, the host is the higher seed, not MSU.

Wow! State is pretty ballsy to be playing their regional in Hattiesburg then!

Dumbass.

If state is the higher seed, why are they playing in the Hattiesburg regional?

If zero games get in tonight, do they play tomorrow or is the regional called and awarded to USM?

It's covered on the podcast.

Higher see advances if game doesn't start before 11pm tomorrow.

So anything other than State winning both games we will see southern Miss at the box next weekend?

ETA: NVM I think State gets the head to head with a win then the if necessary game gets cancled

You're getting a lot of up votes, but you're wrong

If MSU wins the first game and the second is unable to be played, the first tie breaker is head to head.
Not sure if they played earlier this season. But if not, and MSU wins the first game, then MSU has head to head advantage

This is exactly how it works. I spoke with a committee member on Thursday about this possibly because of all the "rain" headed to BR. The committee would have the last say on who advances, not the higher seed.

They could potentially give it to MSU if they have the better head to head record winning today.
