My brother and I are going to both the LSU and Saints game. We're driving up from Hilton Head early Sat morning. If we get there before you guys we will grab some parking spots as well. Locking down the Blowfish Stadium parking lot sounds like the way to go. We're staying at the Masters Inn?? Might be a bit dodgey but we don't give a damn after a fifth of Jack it won't matter.

You may want to consider parking in the Columbia Blowfish stadium lot. It is on Assembly Street north of the fairgrounds. It's a fairly long walk -- about a mile -- but you should not have any problem setting up a big tailgate and fitting in a lot of people.

FYI- the Blowfish website has a press article about USC operating a game shuttle from that lot. $5 for non students. Check out this link:

Shuttle to stadium

Looking for a place to park ourselves. The fair totaly screws up everything.

Come on down. We're stayin at the Holiday Inn Express in West Columbia about 7-8 miles from the stadium Friday and Saturday. Sunday we are rolling to Charlotte to the Saints game and then Back to Bham .

We need a good bar to take over Friday night?

I'm in the same boat as the guy flying into Charlotte and going to the LSU and Saints game.

We're staying in Charlotte Friday and driving up Sat. morning and we were debating driving back that night to Charlotte or staying in Columbia. What time do the bars close in SC?

Sucks about the tailgating. I have three others with me but no supplies since we're flying. We would be willing to contribute some funds to crash someone's tailgate that actually has chairs etc.

I'm fired up for this game. My first one this year. I want to see some visor throw'n.

I know a girl that just started grad school at USC. I'll ask her which bar is a good one worthy of a LSU takeover!!! I'll also find out when they close. I'm not sure if we will be there on Friday night.

I just talked to my friend at USC and she said most bars close at 2am. She said there is one bar that stays open til 7am but she couldn't remember the name. She also said any bars in five point will be good for a Friday night takeover. A few suggestions she had are Bar None, Delaney's Pub, or Local Bar. These are all in five points and close together.
She also said Vista has some good bars. Vista is a little bit more upscale not as many dive bars more like clubs I guess and nicer places to eat. I perfer a good dive bar myself.

My friend and I will be driving out there this weekend, good to see a lot of Tiger fans haven't bailed yet. I guess we'll know who the TRUE Tiger fans are Saturday.

Reminds me of the SECCG last year when front runners bailed on this team. I did go BTW and was possibly the best Saturday I ever had as a tigerfan from start to finish!

Dude, I am from the Hallman era. Been there, done that.

It looks like most of the questions have been answered, but if you have anymore, let me know. The Blowfish stadium option is a very good one, but I think that alot of people will be going with that one, so I would get there not later than about 10:00a.

As far as open container, I've never seen anyone have any problems walking around the main stadium area. I do keep mine in cups though just to be on the safe side.

Not sure if this was mentioned, but if you would like to go to the fair before the game, you get in free with your game ticket. You can also get stamped if you want to go out and drink a little bit. They won't allow alcohol in the fair.

For those of you staying at the Courtyard, this is the hotel directly across from the Carolina Coliseum on Assembly. On any other game day, this would be the perfect place to stay, but, because it is fair day, Assembly will be the main artery into the stadium and fair, so make sure you think about that because of time.

Once again, any questions, just let me know. I'm here to help. :-)

If blowfish is offering shuttle service to the fair and game, they may have restrictions on parking and tailgating.

If your going to the Saints game we will have a decent sized crew (30-40) at the parking lot on the corner of S.Mint & S.Poplar. Just look for 3 or more flag poles with Saints flags and atleast 1 LSU flag. Always represent'n the Tigers at a Saints game.
