If Wisconsin wins, especially handily, then I suspect the Badger has identified why it will happen. We really don't KNOW what we have on the DL, QB, or WR. However, unless LSU is outschemed or has players who just aren't mentally ready, I really like the young players we have coming in, and I also like the Tigers catching the Badgers on a fast track indoors. Chavis having a lot of prep time with a young D will also help.

A word on Fournette. I understand the sentiment of "I've heard this all before." Fair enough. We all have. But I have to ask the OP this: have you seen him play, even if only on TV (a couple of his games were televised nationally)? Only time will tell, but Fournette is the most gifted I have seen.

I see LSU winning this one so long as the Tigers are -1 or better in T/O differential. Although not a big gap, I am banking on there being an overall talent differential in LSU's favor.

And yes, I'm aware that we lost our front seven. Here's the thing, though - the guys that were playing behind our starters in the front 7 all return, and most of them have significant game experience.

Yet we're just throwing out some scrubs on the D line now, right?

Its been 5 years for us. We've lost 2 games by double digits. Both to Bama.

On offense, we sport one of the best offensive lines in college football

Ditto.

I expect us to gain 200+ yards against you on the ground.

Auburn led the nation in rushing last year and got 213 as we embarrassed them. You better pass it effectively against us.

We'll load up the box and make you throw against our seasoned secondary. You might think you'll do the same against us, but again, we have QBs with experience.

Stave is terrible and most Wisconsin fans admit that. You lost your only good WR. We have the best CB tandem in the country.

Your defense wasn't stellar last year, and your defensive line appears to be thin and inexperienced.

Our defense was 9th in the country last year. Our DL is deeper than it was last year. Less experienced, but more talented and deeper.

You are the ones that lost 7 starters from your front 7.

You guys lost to Penn St. at home last year. You lost your only threat at WR and don't replace it with talent like we have. You lost your starting front 7 on defense, and while the other guys got experience, that is absurd depth to lose at once. We HOPE you just run the ball all night. We'll have 9 in the box because our CBs are shutdown.

You're team replaces its entire front 7 on defense from last year....that doesn't bode well for the Badgers at all. You're gonna find out what a big, fast & physical offensive line can do. Fresh legs in the backfield all game long...we will rush for 220+ yards and keep it honest with an efficient 180-190 yds passing.

34-17 Tigers!

Hello Badger

Im glad u finally showed up. I have no issue with anything u posted except for Fournette.

Your post has some merit, and if your boys get by LSU, u will have a great chance to get in the playoff. Wisconsin does bring a different challenge to the Tigers. But on a fast, neutral field with no weather concerns, I will take the Tigers every time over a Big 10 team.

I think Stave may be the only position where you will have an advantage. The kid has size and can sling it. We just don't know what our QB situation will look like until the Ref blows the opening whistle.

We treat our whole 2014 class like celebrities lol. I do think that has gone to their heads and will backfire on us big time..

But we'll survive once they figure out they are not all that and just come to play ball

Appreciate you taking the time to give us a pretty thorough reasoning behind your prediction, but nothing you said is new or enlightening to us. We have discussed each of your points numerous times and there are some that have similar thoughts to yours.

I believe that our biggest question mark will be whether or not that Badger O-line wears down our d-line. This was our biggest weakness last year as we were so thin on the line that our guys simply got wore out in the 4th quarter. LSU must find a deeper rotation at those tackle spots and honestly, I’m not sure that we have enough horses there to shut down Wisconsin.

However, I do disagree with your assumption that your defense will stop our running game. LSU, similar to Wisconsin, is a very physical running team. We run north-south and have large backs that pound, pound, pound to the point where the opposing defenses get wore out. You may try and stack the box, but do you think you would be the first team to try that? Prior to Mettenberger’s/Beckham’s/Landry’s phenomenal year last year, EVERYONE tried to stack the box (remember we had Jordan Jefferson leading the team). That didn’t stop our rushing attack from being one of the best in the SEC and country. I do believe that LSU will have a lot of run support from the safeties when LSU is on D due to the confidence that Chief has in our corners.

I see this one going down to the end and being a very physical (and short due to all the runs) game. It will be close but if I was a betting man…I would have to bet on Leslie/Cam/Chief. Are you going to be in Houston for the game? If so, I’ll let you buy me a beer and we can debate this topic further.
