Something I noticed in the spring game...

I'm sure we all know there was a lack of 4th down conversions and crazy fake field goals and punts this year compared to normal, but in the spring game Trey Quinn was holding the ball on field goals. Just something I noticed.

Good catch, I didn't notice him holding. Having Quinn on the field certainly opens up some interesting options. It will be a fun season to watch.

They seem to like him and trust him with many different things. The one that stuck out to me was against Wisconsin when we were in the victory formation and he was the guy back. You do not let a true freshman do that in the first game of the season unless you trust him.
As Coach Miles said yesterday, his football IQ is very high, and you cannot afford not to play him. I have even heard whispers of being the gunner on punt coverage. He is in the mix at WR, punt return, kick return, and I hear they want him more involved on special teams, so hopefully his role expand. Those who do not remember him from baseball do not know that he has a very strong throwing arm, and many teams that recruited him were interested in a Wildcat QB role too. He would give us many options with his talend AND football IQ. We will see.

Seems like naming a QB starter and letting an underclassman soak that in mentally would benifit everyone.
