Im passing out from Ambien, but if you are referring to how I worded it..

If Tulsa were to play Auburn, Ms. St., Ole Miss, Tenn, Vandy, Kentucky, and Florida... in an imaginary schedule... I feel like it would be reasonable to win 4 or 5 of those 7 games.

I figure florida would be the most difficult, and then probably Auburn and then Vandy because of their secondary.

I agree with some of the above BAMA fan's gripes about this stat, most notably the fact they neglect to mention FLA's ranking at the time of the BAMA game AND their failure to show what ranking the team they lost to had.

However, BAMA's best (and only) argument at this time is that they have the best one loss. If I were an Okie State fan, I'd be throwing everything including the kitchen sink at this argument to muddle the fact that it is, indeed, valid.

-"Our team was distracted by the disaster that took place earlier that day."
-"It was a short week (midweek game) ON THE ROAD"
-"Did you actually watch the game? That FG was good. We should've won."
-"Regardless, anyone who actually watched the game would agree we were clearly the better team. We just didn't have enough focus to close out a 24-7. It was a rough day for our university and players."

End devil's advocate.

I would not have a problem with them playing LSU if they lost to OU as their only loss. Hell any of their ranked opponents. But they lost to ISU

Still hung up on losses, huh? The only stat that favors bama. Fine, you have a great loss. The best loss of all time. Such a great loss that it's almost as if the game never happened. And I'd bet Iowa state would be bama's 3rd or 4th best win this year.

Their biggest win is Marshall or UCF. They lost to all the AQ schools they played and Boise St.

WTF? No way in hell. They may...may could beat Ole Miss and UK

They would obliterate Ole Miss. Just look at what LaTech did to them. Miss St was brought to overtime by Latech. SO I would hope you could at least see it as a possibility for those 2.

Vandy has a great secondary but their offense sputters too much to keep up.

Kentucky is bad. No more argument there.

Tenn is in rough shape on defense and just lost to Kentucky.

That only leaves Auburn and Florida as teams you can most likely count on to beat them. I wouldn't be shocked if Auburn lost in a shootout though.

ETA: this isn't a testament necessarily to how good Tulsa is, but how down the SEC bottom is this year. I would value the Tulsa win over a win in the state of Mississippi.

As a matter of fact, Iowa state would be Bama's 3rd best win. Bama has beat 3 teams with a winning record. Iowa State is 6-5

Oh, no doubt bama would beat Iowa state. No one is arguing that. The point is, bama did not even have to. An OSU win over OK would be a better win than any that bama has.

Come on. ISU lost by seven TDs to a bad mizzou team. ISU beat Nortern Iowa by one point. They were destroyed in all of their losses.

But again the key is win, Bama would crush them while OSU could not beat them.

They have a good offense.

20th net yards
25th in First Downs
22nd in rush yards
24th in points/game

Not great but not so bad either.

I'm done knighting for Tulsa
Off to bead

OU is already ranked lower than Ark, when they lose they will be around #16. Ark will be #8.

These folk are not trying to say OSU is a better team (none of the sane ones). They are just trying to justify the voters having OSU jump Bama in the final prebowl BCS poll.

I agree, plus I still go back to this:

quote:

Conferences need to play one another to determine which is better. Its the only thing left that makes the bowl games so great. I'm not saying Bama is not the 2nd best team, I'm not saying they are. A whole bunch of you (including myself) all thought that Ohio State and Michigan were probably the best two teams in 06 until the voters all reevaluated and said no, that Mich had their chance and invited Florida.
Final score: Florida 41 Ohio State 14

No way do I think that Okie State or Virginia tech would beat us, but you have to at least give them their shot. Bama had theirs. If Florida never played that game in 06 we would still be believing that fraud. That Ohio State and Michigan were the 2 best teams.

Dude, yall have only beat 3 teams with winning records, THREE! If you were to beat Iowa State it would be your 3rd best victory ! Iowa State has a winning record.

I don't care who we play, I'm more than confident to play anyone. But boy I would love for Bama to get burned next week by OSU jumping. Just the sweet sweet gump tears that would roll when they find out, after two weeks of thinking that they will, do not get to go the NC. If they don't get jumped, I guess I will have to wait 5 more weeks to taste the tears. And you know they will bitch, bitch, bitch either way... Its going to be niceeee

Well in the real world people that actually have a job but are not perfect dont put on their Resume that they sleep in twice a week, smoke like a freight train and go out every wed night to quarter beer night and show up drunk and hung over on thur.
Employers call around and try to find out what you left off, like shitting the bed to what should be a 6-6 ISU team.

I believe Bama is definitely in a different class from OSU. I have been around and around with some of these folks tonight. I couldn't or wouldn't be able to get past the loss to ISU either. They don't care, they are not looking for the best team, just anyone but Bama.

A testament to the TR is that this side is much more bearable than the SECR.
A plus 1 would fix all of this
LSU vs Va Tech
Bama vs. OSU
or whoever is the top 4.
Winners meet and take all.
ETA 2 and 3 play on Christmas Eve and 1 and 4 play on Christmas night.
