I read a ton of threads saying this year's average starting position was way higher than last year and I start thinking to myself...Patrick Peterson returned just about every kickoff to at least the 35 yard line. I spent about an hour last night looking up all the numbers from the first 5 games of each season and then putting an average out. Here is what I have found..take them however you want to take them.

2010
---------
36 yard line
2.6 turnovers per game
326 ypg
131 pass ypg
195 rush ypg
30:20 time of possession
24.4 PPG
12 point margin of victory

2011
--------
30 yard line
0.6 turnovers per game
349 ypg
177 pass ypg
172 rush ypg
33:55 time of possession
37.4 PPG
25.2 point margin of victory

For Whoever asked. 3 and Out's are actually up by .4 this season.
2010
3.2

2011
3.6

.6 to 2.6 is the biggest.

How many times did we drive the ball last year only to have JJ throw a pick in the red zone or just outside of it?

there were a ton of fumbles as well. I was shocked when I looked back on everything. We flat out sucked through the 1st 5 games.

QB play is up, return game with pp7 is probably better, Ridley was amazing, but so is ware/ford. Passing will at least keep the defenses honest. I love this years team

I started to do redzone % but I got lazy after an hour of looking everything up. I may do this later. I'll try to add in 3 and out's as well

Points per game?

That plus margin of victory makes a huge difference in the type of offense a team runs.

Stats arent everything.

The only way to quantify success is by wins and we are perfect in the department against tough competition

That stat is the only one that stands out to me.

PPG is the biggest factor so far. Many more TD's especially in the passing game than last year.

IDK about you, but I would rather let Wing punt than turn the ball over via a fumble or interception.
