that finishes the equation.

So holding down someone less talented at WR is now impressive? Do you think there is a reason that Hawkins was on Crawford (a guy LSU had committed with really good size and speed)?

The fact the Jai doesn't play as much, is not starting as of now this season, etc. aren't big enough indicators that Chris is better?

actually, he did a pretty good job on Julio, but as the game wore on Julio made all of our CBs look bad.

Well, I guess we will see how good your math is come Sept. 5, 2009.

Also, just so you know, I hope Jain has 6 pick 6's next year especially if it means the TIGERS are winning, but I just like that Hawkins will be the starter along with PP.

I'm not the coach so I don't make the calls. Neither are you. We are all rantards in a sense. I personally think Jai is better. I said the only reason CH was starting was because of his experience/being a senior.

If Jai and CH were both juniors or both seniors...I would choose Jai all day over CH.

+1...PP is the Lebron of our defense. We can all agree with that!

the fact that we have a nearly whole new defensive staff because last year's team was horribly coached and poorly managed personnel-wise isn't a sign that a change we can believe in is coming?

JAI is the Truth

But why? I'll question the coaches when something is visible on the field (i.e. Alem playing better than Tyson/Kirston), but not when there is no visible proof. Hawkins plays the ball better, has more knowledge of the system one could assume, and is consistently on the field during crucial plays. So what if Jai is stronger, Chris does just fine with tackles, INTs, pass breakups, and forced fumbles.

People don't like Chris because he isn't flashy. Everyone always wants to unleash this talent we have, but they have no idea how they will handle being out on an island in a big SEC game. There was a reason that Chris started every game last year, and there was a reason why Chris was holding London Crawford and not Jai.

idk what the coaches see...thats what I'm saying. i think Jai is better and I don't see why he doesn't get more time. we'll have to see what happens this year.

it's easy to see when a defensive end is making plays on the field...a little harder for a cornerback...why you ask? Jai wasn't all over the field making plays b/c he had his man covered and the ball was not thrown in his direction...he did his job and prevented the pass from even coming...instead, the QB would look the other way and hit his open reciever...Chris Hawkin's man that is....

at the CB posistion...its better to not see the player. Who cares if he doesnt get Int and tackles. If he doesn't let his man get the ball, he is in good shape.

I think the point being made was that JAI wasn't on the field in many of the "big" plays. IF you recall Jai was on the bench during the 4th quarter on a regular basis, at least that is what I recall.

(I could have been too loaded to remember, but that what I recall... )

don't get me wrong. I don't dislike Hawkins...If he starts, I don't want him to do bad to prove my point. I want him to succeed. I just think Jai is better, that is all.
