I for one think LSU is a destination job. There are exceedingly few jobs that would be considered above LSU in the college ranks

I think the same but last week the CLM supporters sure as hell didn't seem to think this way

Why would Miles consider leaving with the talent that LSU has returning next year? LF, a junior QB, loaded D
He probably hasn't, but that isn't the question being posed.

I mean ESPN talked about how great of a coach he is and how if we fired him there would be a schools on Monday lined up to hire him..

The difference is pretty simple. If Miles had been fired, a school could have hired him at a reduced price with LSU making up the difference. Now said school would be out $5+ mil. a year.

If he's so bad why did LSU give him a 15 million dollar buyout.? Why doesn't Jimbo quit, obviously he can't keep up with little Clemson and now even North Carolina has passed him as well.

I think someone misread the tea leaves and thought this was necessary to keep him.

You don't toss around 15 million dollars misreading the tea leaves and keep your job at a competent place of business.

Who's making a run at Saban, Bob Stoops, Urban Meyer, the coaches at Baylor and/or TCU right now? Or Dantonio- I hear his name tossed out by message board gurus, but i don't see any real move on him?

Miles is over 60. At that age, a program has to think not only is this the guy that can win a national title, but also is their program ready to win NOW? There really is only one place close to that, USC. And they weren't looking at anyone other than Kelly from outside, maybe not even him. Hell, they may not think they are in that timeframe right now.

and many others think it's a very reasonable question when all the pumpers claim he is such a great coach...his name is never mentioned for NFL jobs or other college jobs. What does that tell you? The NFL doesn't respect his coaching ability? Texas pursued Saban...why not Miles?

Supposedly Les doesn't care about LSU because he used other job offers to leverage more money.

So if you want to go down that route, then he's been offered the Michigan and Arkansas job.

You must have missed the preseason predictions of the vast majority of pundits and media. LSU was thought to lose 3 or even possible 4 games this year. WHY??? They were so young in so many areas. Great players...........but young. Even 60% of the fans that follow DandyDon picked LSU to lose 3 games. WHY??? youth. They did well until running into the experienced defenses and offensive lines of the top SEC teams. Kind of like a boxer with 5 fights taking on a boxer with 20 fights. Similar abilities, the more experienced boxer will win 90% of the time. The major mantra before the start of this season was, "This team has some great personnel(which they do) but wait till next year for the team to be great. I hate how they lost some of those games but I am willing to wait and continue to support the team. I will add that the majority of the fans, myself included, like to point to the fact that LSU has more players in the NFL than any other university. That has come at a price as we have had so many juniors leave early. How many freshmen and sophomores have had major playing time this season?? Harris threw his 1st int of the season at the beginning of the 2nd half at ala and was one of the key points of the game. Not throwing him under the bus but it was a mistake of youth. Missed tackles, out of position and confusion on defense were mostly mistakes of youth. Allowing pressure on the QB and no holes for LF so many times in the latter part of the season due to missed blocks because of schemes misdiagnosed by youth. Can there be improvement in coaching.........yes. Special teams is a glaring point. But once again, have patience, support the team, don't bad-mouth and talk about our coaches, admin or players as if they are sub-human idiots. Recruits read these pages just like they read the press before the aTm game and it caused defections. Words have consequences. Geaux Tigers

Couldn't agree more and this past week or so will hopefully be the nail in the coffin.
