Hell look at the year Corbin had David price. They were number 1 in the country, an absolute loaded team and they lost in their regional

ETA: and then in 2013 they were the #2 overall seed and once again didn't make Omaha

They were terrible at the beginning of the year.

Corbin is way more of a choker than PM is. Vandy was on the level of Ole Miss with their chokes before last season. Corbin wouldn't have lasted here with that. And now people may realize he is the best coach in college baseball.

I drive by Virginia's less than impressive baseball stadium every Friday morning and I think to myself HOW is this team better than LSU? Same could be said about Vandy.

Virignia isn't better than LSU, they got lucky with probably the weakest regional host in the country, they got lucky to face another 3 seed in the super regional in Maryland, and they found a way to piece together 3 wins out of 4 in Omaha. They had a good first matchup against Arkansas, maybe the weakest team in Omaha this year. They got a game of the year from their starting pitcher and that set up only having to win one game vs Florida which they almost didn't do.

To put it simply Virignia was probably the luckiest team in the Tournament this season. They played well but There are probably about 10 15 teams more talented than them. They just got lucky and didn't have to play real stiff competition till really Florida. That's the way it works in baseball sometimes.

Vandy is a very good team playing great baseball at the right time.

The same could be said about LSU. It's postseason college baseball.

Another difference between LSU and Virginia: Virginia rode their hot reliever 60 pitches to the finish line.

Paul would have pulled him after three hitters.

But what if that hot reliever only got lucky by facing the bottoms third of the lineup?

For what it's worth, they are approved to expand the stadium $22M. Will obviously still pale in comparison to Alex box but who even comes that close? Just a handful of stadiums

Vandy's bracket had two national seeds adding up to 9 plus Fullerton.

Virginia's bracket had two national seeds adding up to 9 plus the hottest SEC regular team after the 3rd weekend.

The difference between the brackets is negligible.

Winning a championship is really hard to do. Being a dominant program year in and year out, and winning in Omaha again is a big deal. Let's just be proud of what our boys accomplished.

Since CPM is so horrible a HC, and UCLA, TCU, Fla, have all "passed LSU up" according to ranters here, how do you feel TCU's fans feel? 3 Omaha appearances, no NC. Fla's fans? 3 ( 4?) Omaha appearances, no NC. UCLA? What, won one NC. CPM won the regular league championship in what is the nation's hardest conference. He won 50+ games. He won the regional. He won the super regional. he was voted COY by his conference & national peers. Yea, he really sucks & has no clue. Good Lord.

They got better as the year went along and peaked at the right time. LSU can look back on a bunch of empty regular season wins, because they crumbled when it counted.

exactly, the college post season is crazy. A 4 seed won it one season how often does that happen in ANY sport.

Intimidator material right there.

And how many of you think he would or should be COY if they voted today over Virginia's coach, who knew how to reach the finals with two pitchers and knew how to use his bullpen properly and didn't sit relievers after perfect innings so he could fit his predetermined strategy?
