if you think past performance against those teams is a prediction of future results

He never said that dumbass. He is saying we ran on teams last year with a worse passing game and worse run blocking oline.

that's not true. i explained this last week

there are elite opponents (top 5-7), solid opponents (top 30 or so), and then the rest. MSU is in "the rest" for me

I guess that's the point I'm trying to make. Labeling all 91 teams in the FBS outside of the top 37 as "bad or vastly inferior" reveals the bias. I mean, then every win they get over anyone except a top 37 team in your eyes is a negative.

The funny thing is, Auburn and MS State were in that top 37 when they playe, but now you don't give them credit as a "solid" opponent because they dropped out after LSU beat them?

We have the equivalent of a RS FR at QB and Zeus at RB

It is clear that CC spends a lot of time with BH on managing the plays, the clock, the LOS and the formations in their 20 hrs per week of allowable practice time. The passing game took a backseat to what was needed now for LF.

It is clear to me that the game is still too fast for BH and he isn't comfortable. The best way to fix this is reps, film study, more reps and more film. At some point we hope it clicks and the game slows down for BH to the point where he sees the field, knows where to go with the football and puts it there for his WRs to catch it.

We are invested observers of a complicated development process and no matter how much we bitch and moan it is going to take as long as it takes. If any of you feel like BH is the wrong guy to play QB or CC is the wrong guy to teach him then you have a legit complaint. But you don't have perfect information to base that off of, just the games and that is only part of the process

But your complaints won't change anything

Why are you happy when you beat team like a&m? They haven't been the best team in any conf in almost 2 decades.

Do really think is is reasonable to assume that LF will get 215+ yards and 3 TDs in EVERY game.

Not quite that high. But I believe that if he gets 20-25 carries that 150-200 yards per game should be expected, at minimum.

In his last 6 games:
19 carries 146 yards 1 TD 7.7 ypc (226 yards from QB)
11 carries 143 yards 2 TD 13.0 ypc (159 yards from QB)
28 carries 159 yards 3 TD 5.7 ypc (119 yards from QB)
19 carries 228 yards 3 TD 12.0 ypc (140 yards from QB)
26 carries 244 yards 2 TD 9.4 ypc (160 yards from QB)
26 carries 233 yards 3 TD 9.0 ypc (106 yards from QB)

Barring a complete defensive meltdown, this is how we're going to win football games. Would I like to feel secure in the knowledge that we could pass if we were in a situation that called for it? Absolutely. However, "we have seen nothing to indicate" that Fournette can be stopped.

Then that is an indictment of the coaching staff... Their job is to fix what doesn't work.

The starting receivers are underperforming? There are several highly rated receivers on the bench. Play them.

The QB is having trouble completing passes because of no separation? Call something else for god sakes. Give the QB a chance.

Hardly anyone is calling for an air raid offense... The running game is spectacular. Just some compententcy in the passing game would help the offense so much more.

Again I am arguing that he doesn't have to be stopped.

Bama is giving up 60 yards rushing a game. If LF gets 2.5 times that and 2 TDs, everyone would consider that a GREAT game.

But if the offense can't do much beyond that, and at this point it looks like they can't, we lose.

More balance and a better passing game will do nothing but make LF even better. Yet that fact is lost on so many.

it's not a negative. it's a neutral, basically

and seriously this is good for LSU typically. most years when we're good we play a 1AA team and the SOS crew nationally comes out to pick out those little games. when you lump all of those games together, and only consider top competition (which is the barometer for elite teams), LSU usually gets a HUGE bump

we just haven't gotten that bump yet but it will come

well Auburn just sucks this year. they were supposed to have a heisman finalist at QB who was just completely shitty

i mean do you honestly think Auburn is anything but bad this year?

MSU lost a ton from last year and it's hurting them. they did lose last night, too. it's not just the LSU loss

i think you missed the overall point

i was saying i will celebrate beating good teams on our schedule this year. TAMU will be one of those teams, this year

We called two pass plays in the second half.

Sounds like they fixed it. You just didn't like the fix.

Miles WANTS IT THIS WAY!

That's what you people fail to realize, THIS IS HIS PHILOSPHY. It's not balance, it's unbalance!

He's showed you time and time again. I can count maybe 5 games in the last 5 years where we've had actual balance (not against cupcakes, anyone can do that).

Bama is giving up 84 yards rushing a game. If LF gets 2.5 times that and 2 TDs, it would be consistent with his season average.

i do believe this is the case

it allows LSU to be all but assured of beating teams of inferior talent and maybe 1-2 upsets a year, but it limits us

basically VERY high floor, moderately high but limited ceiling

So, in your previous post, you said you don't think they can adapt if the running game doesn't work. Yet, per usual, you try to rationalize the coaching staffs' ineptitude. Ok. That was the response I expected from you.

No, we fixed the offense by going with what was working and sent a message to our receivers that if you can't catch a ball that hits you in the hands, you won't get any targets.
