16-5? O is 21-7 his three previous HC seasons. winning 75% of his games on teams that he hadn't built yet is impressive, but it doesn't tell me anything yet. We still don't know yet how a Coach O built team is going to play. we'll start seeing it next season and 2019 will be his true test. You can't base much off of this season because most of the team is not built by him outside of the offense because he hired Matt Canada. It's never too late to get behind your coach, though, because he'll be here a few more years at least.

I credit the coordinators who actually coach.

Yet I guarantee you blame O for the defense letting Troy score 24, which was more than Akron and Boise allowed against them previously.

If LSU wins, it's because of coordinators. Yet the loss to Troy was because of Coach O. Got it!

Didn't want him to get the job!

Wasn't happy when he did!

But he did.

Was seriously pissed when we were 3-2 but understood that we were terribly limited limited by lack of numbers on both OL & DL. But after Troy loss it could have become a disaster that we might have never recovered.

Give him all the credit. He did whatever it took to pull things together to win 7 games. Yes, a lot of bad teams or situations but we didn't stub out toe on any of those and we played fairly well against Bama.

Give him credit. But watching cautiously about development of both QBs, recruiting this year and how youngsters that have to step in next year develop to help us compete in 2018. By end of 2018 season I will have seen enough body of work to decide (I think) whether Ed O is the real deal as a HC or whether we need to start looking again.

Someone needs to be checked into a mental facility

So O is better than Kirby and Mullen too?

Cue the mental gymnastics where losing to Troy and being blown out by State in historic fashion wasn't at the least equally terrible.

Orgeron’s season was better than both Herman and Fisher’s by any objective measure. That’s not opinion, that’s fact. You can hate the hire all you want, but those two folded like cheap whores this season, and that’s not debatable.

This being a troll thread is so obvious it is not even funny.

Appreciating a coach is a troll thread? Literally 75% of the posters on this board want O’s head and blame him for every single thing that happens, and things that haven’t even happened yet. It is possible to not shite on a coach after a 9-3 season where the team was plagued with injuries and had freshman in at key spots.

Bull fricking shite. This statement just solidifies what a bunch of sensitive, hysterical little girls so many "O fans" are. This board is littered . . . littered with O sycophants posting masturbatory circle jerks about what a great job O has done.

orgeron is 16-5 across 2 Power 5 conferences in the last 3 seasons he has coached.

We start giving 0 credit when he surpasses what Lester Miles would have accomplished if he remained as LSU's head coach. Just in case you were wondering, Les had a record of 114–34 overall at LSU (an average of over 10 wins per season). There is a very good chance a Miles-coached 2017 team would have beaten Troy and held off Moo State--likely putting LSU in the top 10 nationally and potentially placing them in contention for the CFP.

But, all of that aside, 0 has done better than I feared after the Troy loss, about equal to what Miles accomplished historically, and certainly not BETTER than the coaching administration he replaced.

0 bought himself another year by maintaining the status quo, and we'll see where the shrimp boat captain takes us from here. Mullen at FU and Fisher at Faggie Land will likely make 2018 more difficult than 2017.

Ok. Here are some results for you.

Since taking over at LSU, Orgeron has gone 1-4 against conference teams that were ranked at the end of the regular season.

Get that number above .500 and that is when I will start giving him credit.

Because until he does that, we aren’t winning shite and this entire coaching change was pointless at best.
