For people still complaining about the Florida game? im not sure I follow why people are whining and complaining and still blaming Alleva for what people wanted all along. The game to be rescheduled. Not only was it rescheduled, it was scheduled to be played in TS.

What were you people calling for? What is it you wanted? What do you suggest? You're just upset that LSU has to go on the road next year? Big deal!

I think it boils down to people wanting to have their cake and eat it too. This whole fiasco proves that most rant posters are literally off their fricking rockers and will never be satisfied about anything.

LSU is back in control of their own destiny with and extra SEC home game.

Win out and you go to Atlanta. Nothing more, nothing less.

this has always driven me insane. it should be eat your cake and have it too. obviously you can have cake and then eat it, the trick would be to eat the cake and then STILL HAVE IT. doesnt that make more sense? am i taking crazy pills?

I wanted Alleva to take a public stand while there was still time to get something done last week, is there something wrong with that? Everyone knew when the stuff hit the fan there were no alternatives that didn't involve us getting screwed in some way. Foley and Sankey were idiots in this debacle, but that doesn't give Alleva a pass.

And yes, playing 5 road games and 3 at home next year is a big deal in several ways.

Their are people on this site that think LSU should be given a home game and not be expected to reciprocate.

I get that what UF was chicken shite. But I think Alleva and LSU made the most of a bad situation.

I would just rather LSU travel there as planned and leave the future alone.

Don't care if it meant 3 straight road games. This team needs a miracle any ways.

I just hope they make a rule to address this moving forward. If a hurricane is projected that week of a game it must be moved to a neutral location. Period. Even if it turns elsewhere late.. at least you didn't jeopardize cancellation and you don't have to worry about rescheduling and all this other BS.

Florida should have been forced to play elsewhere or if not then delayed till Sunday if weather was fine.. and forced to play then. No reason they just gave up after being stubborn.

I agree completely...this season has just sucked balls because of all of these distractions. I am ready to buckle down and watch some damn ball...

well thats just dumb. from door to door its probably a 5+ hour trip to Ark, Fla, and TAM. three of those in 12 days is rough, 3 of those in 12 days while also playing SEC football games is essentially impossible.

what we have now is at least a fighting chance, and the team deserves that.

Agree with you. And so many bitching about 5 away games NEXT season while glossing over 5 home games THIS season.

But many, myself included, are still pissed because UF still ended up screwing us by using a natural disaster to delay and get healthy. Most other games (besides Tulane/UCF) were played in FLORIDA this past weekend. And the UF volleyball team played and the football team still hosted recruits. All the while Foley (and Sankey) are smearing LSU in public. It's loathsome.

If we win out, we deserve to be in Atlanta. If we not, we don't.

It happened last year when SC was unable to host a game because of Mother Nature. The SEC should've stepped in last week and told Florida to pick a time to get the game in by Monday in Gainesville, or go to BR and lose your home game.

You thought the ESPN criticism was bad this week? How bad do you think it would have been had Alleva publicly called out Florida while a hurricane was on the way? My God. The backlash from the nation would have been astronomical. No thanks.

He wouldn't have had to call them out like he did this week. Just release a simple statement saying we're monitoring the situation and preparing to alter travel plans where necessary based on whatever contingencies are laid out by Florida and the SEC.

It likely would have resulted in someone saying, "hey Florida, what the hell are you going to do if this thing doesn't take a right turn by Thursday afternoon?"

No they don't. They just need to win their remaining games. If that is considered a miracle then the definition has certainly changed over the years.

Maybe. It's easy to play monday morning QB. We don't know what was going on behind the scenes. Maybe Sankey was saying don't go to the press. Maybe Florida was saying not to go to the press. They were optimistic the game would be played in Gainsville until Thursday. Maybe that's completely shot if Alleva goes public. Maybe Alleva was expecting Florida to be reasonable. Maybe he should have recognized that Florida was dicking around, but we can't fully know what the entire situation was behind the scenes.

I think things turned out decent for us considering and I'm sick of speculating about what happened last week, because none of us really know everything that happened.

Do you even duke lacrosse scandal, prom?

Seriously though, I've seen multiple instances where Alleva does something well, only to be followed with multiple spin jobs on how incompetent he is. He's smarter than 99% of the board, and frankly there's never been an LSU AD that's fought for LSU's best interest like he has.

Of course he should have recognized it, literally everyone knew they were dicking around by Wednesday at the latest.

I'm mostly pissed at the five day turnaround for A&M. If they're going to play around with schedules, they should have forced that game back to the following Saturday.

Yes, we are now in control of our own destiny for the SEC CG, but are we in control of our own destiny, so to speak, for the playoff?

There are 5 power conference, and 4 playoff spots. At least one power conference needs to be left out every year. Sure the Big 12 is weak this year, but if LSU wins the SEC CG, they will be 10-2. Other teams will be 11-1. Heck, Baylor or West Virginia could be 12-0. The playoff committee knows it will eventually need to leave the SEC out of the playoff for fairness sake. This will be a great opportunity to do so. Now, if LSU were 11-2, the argument becomes much harder. I know an extra W against a cupcake is essentially meaningless in reality, but a team's overall record has a significant impact on the "eye" test.

With 2 losses, we need as much help as we can get. The way I see it, 2 loss SEC Champs(11-2), we're likely in the playoff. 2 losses AND 1 less win (10-2) makes us much more vulnerable to being left out.

Of course, running the table is unlikely and 1 more loss renders all of this irrelevant.
