Florida sucks.

The 2007 team inspired us yesterday.

Playing 27 Freshman...confidence, belief, guts, experience...all the above

This...compounded by injuries that allow no depth and rotation on defense is what so many are failing to grasp...

Play makers started making plays at crucial times. Chark, Arden, Donte, Kevin, Gage, Dillon, White, and others stepped up and made plays.

The biggest difference on defense is the ability to rotate 7-8 guys on the DL as opposed to 4.

A lot of great replies to your post.

My take is that there is a lot of newness to this team. New coaches, players, offensive scheme, defensive scheme in 2nd year. A lot of things have to come together.

It just took longer than we wanted it to, but, I really like what I have seen the last 2 weeks. Players are buying into and learning the schemes, leaders have emerged, and coaches are instilling that Tiger Pride.

Team looked lost at the MSU game. They looked weak vs Troy. I think maybe Troy and the ensuing chatter motivated them.

Or may the younger players are finally becoming football players.
I think it's a little bit of all of this.

1) Our first turnover was on their side of the field, not ours.
2) Offensive Line really came together in 2nd half.
3) Defensive Line play improved.

Yesterday was the first game I've seen the old Tiger fire. We saw a little of it at FL but yesterday it was very apparent. I watched Arden and sans the double teaming he got during a few DE assignments he was actually engaged in the contest.

Good to see the switch turn back on.

Physicality. Both lines played tough, RBs ran hard, WRs ran better routes, DBs fought for the ball and Devin White was everywhere delivering punishing blows.

Happy we won but kind of pissed I now know this team had the ability to be undefeated at this point.

I doubt that. we should have beaten Troy but we just were not ready for the MSU execution. a team improves during a season and frankly, the loss to Troy advanced that improvement greatly. that happens to teams that get embarrassed; it is human nature where elite athletes are concerned. if you follow the NFL you will often see teams get destroyed and come back with a vengeance.

our players are not machines. they are humans and the human element explains much. our OL looks better with Magee and the freshmen than with Malone and Weathersby. my point is that, with a young team with new coaches, it takes awhile "under fire" to determine who the best players really are. practice just doesn't do it.

By the way Troy served a purpose, get over it, the TEAM HAS

It's pretty pathetic how people are trying to spin the Troy game.
