hmmmm Academic cheating = selling a tshirt?

don't be so stupid. If Ridley cheated I never want him to put on a LSU uniform again. ICGAS about OSU or Auburn or the NCAA

you're the one being 'stupid', many players at all universities fudge, hedge, cheat if you will.

You know how many college students have cheated before? My gosh that's a retarded statement. He MAY have looked on another student's test, as opposed to to someone who got like 3,000 dollars from selling championship rings and stuff.

it's even dumber for someone to say "all students cheat so it's okay for Ridley"

I love our fans who are the first to rip some other school or player but LSU can do no wrong.

Dude cheated. See ya. Peace Out. Enjoy your draft party in April.

IMO, cheating is a bigger violation than selling sports trinkets.

Cheating destroys the integrity of academia, while the latter destroys the integrity of amateur sports, which, let's face it, has little integrity left.

It would depend on what 'cheating' is? Were other people writing or taking tests for him? Yes, that's pretty unethical, but I don't think any 'kid' can sit here and say they've never glanced to see what someone else had at some point during their school career.

BTW, if this makes you all of a sudden lose respect for Ridley, then you must have not been around during the cheating scandel when he was a freshman?

I tend to agree. Knowing it is rampant does not excuse doing it.

I have never cheated on a test in my life, primarily because I didn't need to, but in looking around a room I am sure I have seen others' papers before.

I would say that if you conspired to cheat, prepared materials to cheat, stole or bought tests, then you should be severely sanctioned.

But if all you did was glance at a another paper during a test, then that is not that big a deal - not right, but nobody's perfect.

I think it needs to be clarified on what he cheated on? I mean...why does Ridley need to know who fought in the Revolutionary War?

...and he can read..."See that shoe? It says Addidas!!!!"

all he needs to know how to do is sign an N-F-L Contract - Alvin Mack

I think it is very telling that the president of the university is going to bat for Ridley. This leads me to believe that it isn't as bad as some of you are making it (without having any clue about what is going on).

Are you fricking kidding me? LSU suspends him, not the NCAA and then they basically blackmail him that if he comes back they will "really" go to bat for him? WTF

i don't think the univ wd suspend him then turn around and appeal their own suspension to the NCAA.....i thought he was ruled ineligible by the ncaa......the two scholly reduction this year was another matter and that was the self imposed sanction, not ridley's suspension......and by the way just because i said "many students cheat" i'm not advocating he not be punished, the original question wd be if he took the tOSU pledge, could there be another punishment, like a game or two suspension next year

They are backing him regardless of his intent to return. The "blackmail" being referred to is for those 5 offenders at tOSU.

I agree that if this was the case then it's pretty serious.

A typical student athlete would be kicked off the team if caught having others take tests/write papers for them
