Pro day at LSU isn't the same as a football game. Am I wrong?

Personal feelings aside, I think allowing him at the Pro Day shows that Miles is ok with him being associated with the program.

Was that about the program or former players trying to extend their football careers?

More than likely you would see them on the sidelines during their off week (probably not as we are also off that weekend).

But they would never be in Baton Rouge at 7pm the day before a noon game.

Mathieu is, whether people like it or not, associated with LSU. Next to his name on the roster under "College" it says "LSU."

It wouldn't say that for Perrilloux or any of those other guys.

Depends if he gets kicked off the team for not being able to follow simple rules.
Is that plain enough for a simpleton such as yourself to comprehend?

It was about the latter. But I think it also shows Miles is ok with him representing LSU. Time will tell.

I'm sure a lot of folks on the rant feel that way about Jamarcus, Perriloux, Cecil, etc.

If Peterson comes, Mathieu will be in tow.

Pretty obvious that Miles likes the honey badger and went through great lengths to help him and would welcome him back

As long as Les Miles is our coach, Id be willing to bet TM would be allowed to be on the field during a game.

Not saying its right or wrong, or anything of that nature. But, I'd be willing to bet Les would allow TM to be on the sidelines.

And like someone said, if Peterson comes to a game, TM will most likely be there. So will Minter.

Help me understand this... And please put your personal feelings for the guy on the shelf.

We call them back because we want them and they'd like to be at LSU. What's so hard to understand. Most LSU fans would like to see TM as a tiger.

What other criteria do you use to invite a player
- graduate before gracing the sidelines?

"We" don't call anybody and whether or not "we" want to see the guy there is totally beside the point.

I don't think les would have him back on the sideline.
IMO it would be a distraction... Hell Tyran himself would prob recognize that and decline anyways.

If I were a football coach (at any level) and had to dismiss a player for breaking team rules I don't think I could in good faith and concious do what's best for my team by inviting that particular player back.
That's just the way I see it.

I won't argue that he's off to a good start, but most people would prob agree that it's a tad to soon to label him a success story.
He's been in the league for couple months.

That's why I said "he's a success story as it stands". And, I mean that he's a success story not only because he's playing well, but because he's cleaned himself up and that's gone on for more than a few months. He had to do that first to get the chance to play for a pro team.

And, I agree that allowing him to participate in Pro Day pretty much answers the question.

I mean is RPerriloux welcome? Cecil the deisel? Kyle Anderson? Derrick odom? Damien James?
combined they contributed less than 1/10th of what TM did to LSU football. You know this to be true.

I think he'd be welcome as long as he's walking the straight and narrow. He's a success story as it stands. A guy who turned himself around. If he maintains, he will be a good story to tell players who are straying. He almost wrecked a bright future. He was lucky to get another chance. Doesn't happen to everyone and doesn't happen without a lot of work.
