Lets really think about this for a second.

1. Kevin Steele is the new Auburn DC. They’ll use his scheme. That same scheme took the #1 pass defense NATIONALLY and brought it, with mostly the same players, into the bottom half of the CONFERENCE.

2. Then they hired the secondary coach in charge of the worst secondary in NFL history for 3 years running. The head man over a secondary so bad, the Saints were shattering NFL records…and not the good kind.

3. And to top it off, they are extremely thin in both depth and talent on their roster in the secondary and have 2 DBs currently committed in this class.

True. From what I've read, he's very organized and can assist a program in different ways. But I think it's also just as clear that he's not an elite coordinator. Never was.

All I care about is LSU, and I'd rather roll with Aranda going forward.

But this is Auburn we're talking about. When they're expected to be good, they suck. When they're expected to suck, they're good. And they're looking like they'll really, really, suck next year.

exactly... it's like they have a Bama mole on their BOS or AD Dept that is corrupting them from the inside.

What beasts did he recruit to Ole Miss?

Nkemdiche, Treadwell, Tunsil.

However, RN had a brother on the team and he himself recruiting the other two guys a lot.

Regardless, McGriff is a good recruiter yet a bad position coach. He's like Steele of DBs.

Hypothetical scenario...

Gus gets fired at Auburn because his defense is terrible.

Les gets fired at LSU because his offense is terrible.

LSU hires Jimbo.

Jimbo retains Aranda.

Jimbo hires Gus as his OC.

Negatigers and Sunshine Pumpers every where unite.

Christmas has come early. It still doesn't make up for the abomination that is Cam Newton. But it's a start.

If they would only take Bill Johnson to coach the Defensive Line while they are at it.

Make it happen Gus!

For what it's worth, guys on the AU board aren't really displeased with the hire. Actually kind of excited about his recruiting.

shinerfan is correct...Auburn is bipolar as far as preseason predictions and have been for awhile. Clearly, LSU fans don't think much of co DC's, maybe it has worked elsewhere, I don't know.

As an LSU fan if we retain O, I am excited about the defensive staff.

And to think that most of the rant wanted to give Steele a pass this year because he only got a year. LSU had the worst defense it had in 15 years. Thank you Auburn.
