So are we all agreed? Tony the Truck Stop Tiger becomes the new Mike?

he can at least become the interim Mike until LSU can get a cub donated to them.

What if the interim Mike actually goes to every game, will they name him full time Mike? The real true fans will be calling for him to be promoted, but the money men will be calling other Tigers' handlers to see what it would take to get them here.

ETA: And it's looking like there may be open spots at Auburn and Mizzou for new Tigers. LSU has a top 3 habitat, but are Auburn's and Mizzou's better?

We get new tiger cubs, not some gas-station trash. No thanks.

That's funny. I pulled in there Friday and checked him out and was thinking damn I bet he wishes he was living in Mike's habitat. Kind of felt sorry for ole truckstop Tony.

That's not how it works. LSU will select a grown, yet still juveline, 2 or 3 year old that has been proven to respond well to trainers and behaves well.

I'm gonna miss Roscoe. He's part Siberian, which is why he got so big.

got all that but if the tiger won't get inside of the trailer to go to the stadium, is that really a good choice?

isn't that his role other than a rep for LSU?

Dr. Baker will never go for it and I'm ok with that.

He wasn't always like that, and they really have no way of knowing how he'll respond to game day situations until after they've committed to getting him.

But, I think the more important thing to them is a well-behaved tiger. Shying away from the stadium beats the shite out of mauled trainers and/or fans.

i dont want Mike in the stadium anyway. hes a fricking tiger, putting him in the middle of 100,000 screaming drunks for 5 hours has to be awful.

why do we have Mike anyway? is it because we love him, or is it to be cruel to him?

Haha, way back before Mike got cancer, and tR was bitching about him not going to games, I was saying "Give Truckstop Tony a shot...there's a lot of tigers in cages who would trade their cramped miserable existence for a mansion with a pool, and all you gotta do is take a short little ride around the neighborhood for a couple of hours 6 or 7 times a year".

According to inside confidential Rant sources. he was cool with it until that time they set fireworks off too close to his trailer...

its amazing to me some people here have issues with taking a glorious animal pent up in hell 10 miles away and letting him experience joy. feel good stories aside, its just amazing to me people have a problem with that.

LSU 'family' should not only demand it but also demand that damn hell hole of a gas station never be allowed to have a tiger again.

Agreed. And anyone that calls a caged up animal "trash" is trash themselves.
