Oh for frick's sake. LSU just hired a guy who has NEVER been successful as a DC and was a position coach at the time of hire.

A lot of people seemed to say they would be happy promoting Haley. How successful was his one DC job?

I'll tell you, they won 6 games in 3 years...

I understand that the program may not be as great as we all hope for it to be right now but this knee jerk reaction to everything is ridiculous.

Holy sh*t, this isn't even about the season we just had. The point of all this is the defensive coordinator and how much he may or may not suck. Talk about getting sidetracked......... It's your fault with your jump on Alabama's bandwagon comment. F*ck them and f*ck everyone else who ain't LSU. We should be about winning

I NEVER said that because it would have been pathetic.

Big time schools, when they need coordinators, hire frickING COORDINATORS!!!!

I'm amazed Les is still able to get recruits to come to BR with this offense, it is literally the worst offensive scheme in college football

Don't blame the fans because of the failures of the head coach

Why are you telling me what my thread is about? It's titled "Why even bother being an LSU fan". Not "Hey GeauxLSUGeaux, what do you think about our new DC?" Or "Hey GeauxLSUGeaux, show me how irrational your thought process is".

Whatever happened to a healthy debate?

I think healthy debate is great. I enjoy a good debate from time to time. (Not all the time, and not a sophistic-style debate, but a honest, healthy debate.) To me, the people who stifle healthy debate are the posters who consistently complain about the bad, negative "fans." They litter threads with their insults of these "fans" and lecture them about what kind of "fans" they should be.

So what if the fans don't like this hire, what does it matter? We are still gonna show up and we will support our team. This dude has got it twisted. Coaches have come and gone, but I still wear purple and gold. Blee dat

You're telling LSU fans to jump on Alabamas bandwagon because they don't necessarily like the pick for the DC.
That's the most negative thing anyone's said on here since the hire. You can eat a bag of d*cks dude.......

Because most everything done around the LSU football program lately is usually reactive and reeks of desperation and having to settle for something...that's why.
It doesn't promote a sense of confidence.

Maybe what he gets is not coming here and sharing his miserable woe is me rants in every thread.

We cannot control who is hired, we can only pull for LSU, no matter who is in place.

If you hate it that much pick team that makes you happy.

The players and recruits love LSU and here to support them, not you bunch of sad crybabies.

Haha dude you got everything twisted. As I just stated this whole thread wasn't even intended directly towards the new DC hiring. It was just towards negatigers in general. I was clearly speaking facetiously when I said why not jump on Bama's bandwagon if you're so unhappy with how LSU handles business, but that clearly went over your head since you keep referring back to that point. Do you know what facetious means?

"Let's pray that everything turns out okay."

"We don't know how it will work out--he may be good."

"He may have been bad at Clemson, but he has more talent here to work with."

Is this the kind of POSITIVE reaction you want when a major college program supposedly in the national championship hunt every year hires a defensive coordinator?

For whatever reason--Miles being stupid, Alleva hamstringing him with budget because of his extension frick-up, Miles not able to hire anyone better with Chavis leaving late--whatever the reason, this is a joke of a hire.

And frick you for accusing those who recognize this as not being LSU fans.

Beefense, I just got off the phone with Les. He told me, "Five more posts defending my honor, and you win my personal medal of bravery!"

You're almost there! Congratulations!

Is not hard to understand. Negativity is what allows them to divorce themselves from any sort of failure, but reap the feelings that come with success. Being pessimistic gives them a pass. Instead of saying "well this sucks," they get to act superior and say I told you so. When things work out though, they don't have to do a fricking thing but enjoy it.
This x a million.

Les could've hired a Junior High defensive coordinator and BeeFense would be in here telling us about how much more Miles knows about football than us and about how the Jr. High guy finished first in his district 5 years in a row.

If you're waiting for BeeFense to articulate a criticism of a Miles decision, you'll be waiting a verrrrry long time.
