Do you reAlly think the Ragin Cajuns could take their game to Omaha and fare better At that ballpark? No way for you to think their success will translate.

Honestly, yes i do. Good pitching throughout the weekend(which they didn't have last year), good defense, good hitting (as in not swinging to hit a homer on every pitch), a long time well seasoned coach has me thinking they can make it Omaha. Why not?

Same. It's a combination of college baseball not being fun anymore and Maineri's style of baseball.

Nobody said make it to Omaha.

Let's concede that.

Once there, their superior hitting will be reduced to long fly balls. Getting pitched up in the zone. Squaring up on gappers caught by the outfielders playing shallow.

Every team there will have a Nola, or FL's starter w 3 previous starts this year. Look, all I'm saying is that when this sport loses once obsessed followers such as me, something's wrong.

And, of course, ULL might take it all. But, recent history doesn't doesn't suggest that it will be their batting average that separates them from the rest of the field. As a matter of fact, they might not need a .250 team avg. and their pitchers can make mistakes high in the zone with regularity.

It's definitely not about swinging for the fences anymore. A correction was needed, but they overreacted.

I've watched baseball all my life, and it is usual and customary for a hitter's average, homers, and RBIs to be shown when they get in the box.

Why do they bother showing homers anymore? Show OBP or something of relevance. The announcers can mention the 2 or 3 guys in the lineup with 1 or 2 HRs, and while they're at it, they can name the pitcher who threw it, what the count was, and the direction of the wind.

Are you wishing death on Skip?

You can't roll over in a grave that you aren't in.

If the greatest coach to ever coach college baseball dies tomorrow, it's your fault, IMO.

Reading comprehension.

Yet occupied is what was said. And, definitely a figure of speech.

Bertman would get this team in the locker room and call them a bunch of no talent pussy losers and turn them around

This! Had Bertman tell me this when I was there. I like Maneri but it's time to sack up

Everyone is taking this personally, and I'm really referencing the state of the game.

You have to really want to argue to not accept that the game has changed. Skip was a big part of making the college game capable of not only supporting itself, but actually increasing popularity.

ESPN is not going to tolerate what has happened to the game. You can bet on that. The new ballpark in BR and Omaha wasn't built on CWS that sported HR totals reaching a whopping "3". Not totals for one player, or team? We're talking total for all teams.

Once upon a time, college players were questioned about the transition to a wooden bat. Now, every player would pay to swing a wooden bat.
