Clearly you didn't watch any lsu games this year. Simmons is not a big man. He may be 7 foot but he plays like gaurd. He is another Durant type player...except Durant can shoot.

Nobody is impressed with him. He's overated.

When you find out you're going to the 76ers

So what. Skip Bayless is a prick. I don't understand why anyone even listens to him. Simmons is going to be fine

do you blame him? from what i saw....there were a few moments of greatness from Simmons....there was a lot left to be desired from the #1 player coming out of highschool

What option does he have? Not play?
He could act like a spoiled brat like Elway or Eli and voice his desire to be drafted by a different team.

Summons is going to make everyone around him better but he needs players that can catch and shoot. Neither the Suxers or the Lakers have those players yet.

You guys are banging on Skip but what he said isn't wrong or an unfair statement about Simmons.
Posted on 5/18/16 at 7:42 am to YouAre8Up
Exactly. Skip could gush about how amazing LSU is at every sport, every position, and people will still hate on him because that's just the cool thing to do--much like Verne Lundqvist. There are FAR worse sports personalities than Skip. He might have a different opinion than some, but the man is no idiot.

Spoiled brat? It's a business decision. And it worked out very well for both Elway and Eli.

I've always been really unimpressed with Skip

Simmons might would be a good fit with the Celtics with the #3 pick in the draft.
Posted on 5/18/16 at 9:09 am to boxcar willie
That would be the best place for him. I say slxers take Ingram #1 lakers take Hield at 2 and the celts take Simmons at 3. It's not like he will lose that much money but they become a much better team with him right away. The other two teams???? Not so much.

Sounds like he summed Simmons up pretty well.

He has ball handling/passing skills of a guard, but he spent a ton of time banging down low. People gloss over how much time and energy he spent getting position in the low post. That's one of the reasons he was 5 nationally in double doubles.

He won't be effective down low against the bigger, stronger, and faster bigs in the NBA, so his game will need to move outside. Although he clearly has the ball-handling skills and athleticism, he just can't shoot a lick.
So defenders will sag way off to prevent penetration and dare him to shoot. Unless he can develop a jumper (from scratch, which is a tough ask), he won't be effective in a half-court set.

You are delusional if you think the 76ers will draft Buddy with the first pick.
