Your DH can absolutely bat for any position on the field. Just means the pitcher has to bat. But yes Skenes wouldn't be the DH.

I mean technically you could do it...Beloso would hit for Thompson. Skenes hits for himself.

Then once Skenes is pulled, you pinch hit Jones, Travinski, Frey, etc for that spot in the lineup every time it comes around.

True in high school but not in college. The DH has to be for the pitcher

I understand JJ protecting Skenes future in MLB by making him a pitcher only, but if Skenes came to LSU with the batting credentials, as well as pitching credentials that he did... I will never understand why Skenes did not have at least 1 official at bat on the season... and I don't believe that he doesn't get a plate appearance because he risks an injury because he will be intentionally thrown at, or he would risk injury running the bases. I see a major leaguer doing it in California! And it's much too late to change the scenario now!

So u telling me Caglianone will not bat tonight? I guess if Fla doesn't use a DH.

If he bats for himself there will be no DH.

No, I'm not telling you that

Yes, that's what they do when he starts. And that's what the Angels do when Ohtani starts

Could he start and bat with no DH, then after they pull him, put in place a DH for the reliever?

Yes, he will be their DH the whole game. Even when he leaves the mound.

Heyman, their typical DH, will play first instead of Cags. We’ll see the same lineup at the plate.

a pitcher who bats is actually considered 2 different players.
he is the pitcher AND he is the DH.

when he leaves the game as a pitcher, he is still in as DH.
and while I don't why they would ever do it, the opposite is also true. If he left the game as DH, he could remain in as a pitcher.

This is Florida we're talking about, not the professionals in MLB. You really think they won't aim for Skenes's wrist every single pitch?

I actually wouldn’t mind this. Let Nippolt play shortstop.

It would actually make me laugh if Skenes bats while pitching and the DH is for Thompson and then Hurd comes in and bats as well. That would be dope af. Hurd also played Catcher in high school.
