Chris Childers on Sirrius Coast to Coast said, "Bama looked sluggish in the first game. They just let the pressure of the game get to them. They had a lot of mistakes. The real Bama team showed up on 1-9." Then he agrees with a guy that cries about the block in the back on Lee's second interception. I'm like damn, man. So I guess Bama swept us last year.

I replied that LSU made a lot of mistakes too (2 int, tons of penalties). I also said that Saban was the one who screwed that game up with all the 50yd FG attempts. He should have punted. Needless to say, I got no response.

Dude. When you throw 2 picks on the road like that, you shouldn't win. We just wanted it more.

You sound like Bama fans. We earned the regular season game fair and square. We went into their house with their fans and everything in their favor....and we won. Our will was stronger than their that night. They won the rematch with the revenge factor-no doubt about it. But don't dismiss that war we won by calling it "fortunate". It lessens our effort.

Very well said.

Early today, Braden Gall from Athlon's said he picks Bama to win because he likes Saban over Miles. Although Miles is 3-3 versus Saban. Braden Gall has something against Miles I believe. The guy never has anything positive to say about our program and always says something negative about Miles.

On the positive, most of America has picked LSU to win the west. I just hate hearing people with their set bias and think that Bama is king of the college football world and that no one can out right beat them.

I realize that, DOUCHETARD. With recruits and the rest of the college football world, it's about recent memory and perception. Do u feel all warm/fuzzy about the SEC champ after the debacle in the superdome? What do the average college fans remember? Bama hoisting a crystal trophy. A loss to them this yr, and that game in the Georgia dome becomes a faded, distant memory.

Exactly. There isn't anything worst then turning over the ball and we did it twice. But Bama made more mistakes. Right!!!

People conviently forget Shepard having to wait on a badly under thrown JJ pass that should've been a touchdown. Subsequently, we ended up first and goal inside the 5. Our stops are chalked up to Bammer mistakes. Our failures are do to Bammers incredible defensive skill/coaching. Oh yeah, Michael Ford was 1/5 of a left cleat away from scoring the games only Td. Turns out, we didn't need that Td, due in large part of having the better kicker. So, we just played for the fg.

Speaking of the Georgia Dome, LSU problems on offense started with Arkansas. They got behind against Arky, then it carried over into the Georgia Dome (0 1st downs in the first half) and finally the offense completely collapsed against Bama. The offense got progressively worse 1 because the qb play was so poor and 2 because the coaches stayed with the same offense. UGA stacked the LOS and LSU's passing game was to poor to take advantage. Mathieu's big punt returns and turnovers saved the day in the Georgia Dome. If Mett is what we hope he is, LSU will be extremely dangerous this season.

In the first game our kickers was better flat out...and wing got us out of some tight situations..we had the better special teams hands down...you have to play all three phases of the game, not just offense and defense..

In the title game, there was 3 occasions that if we have slightly above average qb play LSU scores.

1. The pass to Odell that Lester over played.
2. Peterson was running down the middle of the field wide open with no one with 10 yards of him.
3. Landry had beaten the CB by about 2 yards at the Bama 15 yard line but the pass was about a foot too long.

As badly as the offense was, LSU still had a chance thanks to the defense.

That only means they had better seniors. Our best players are still ready to compete this upcoming season as juniors. So statement is very valid.

Fully agree with you. Things snowballed on Arky after the punt return. In addition, their D sucked balls. Georgia dared JJ to beat em, which he couldn't. He was NEVER a factor in that game. Miles & co made the mistake of thinking the rematch would play out exactly like 11-5. Play close to the vest, run the ball, wait for a turnover and/or big HB play. It never materialized. Bama took a lesson from UGA and had a smart approach on offense. In fairness to miles, I don't think JL wouldve made that much of a difference. That game in Nov was moving way too fast for him. That early (late) hit that Hightower put on him set the tone in game one.He remained fragile throughout his career. He DID NOT like contact. Mett just has to be solid. Not spectacular.

And the 11/5 thread morphs into a 1/9 thread.

Color me shocked.

I agree. The UGA game was a great blueprint for Bama. We had the gamechanging plays in the SECC game but not for the title game.

Watching the SECCG gave me a sick feeling and a huge sense of doubt. That, coupled with the looks on the players' faces on the BCS announcement show, didnt sit right with me. In the field of emergency medicine, we refer to this as a "feeling of impending doom". We know the rest of the story.

We won 11/5.
Bama won 1/9.

There's no editorializing reality into something untrue.

I can't even remember what this thread was supposed to be about.
