Patrick Wright is fantastic. He's the one that announces for the band for all halftimes. Great voice for pbp.

Patrick Wright is really good. His voice is a tiny bit unstable though and it cracks when he gets excited. Hawthorne's voice is great because it's so smooth.
The best hire(s) LSU could make is Patrick Wright for basketball and baseball and hire a huge name just for football. (Jim Henderson, Kevin Harlan, etc)

Wright has gotten better over time.

I was going to ask the same question. He I could only listen to the first inning and the a few more batters, but this guy didn't miss a beat. I agree with other posters that he should be the permanent baseball PBP guy.
Nothing against Tim B, but I would rather try a couple of others to see who else is out there.

Wright mainly calls women's basketball and softball and has been doing both for 20ish years. If you don't follow women's sports, that is probably why you didn't recognize him, but he has been around LSU for a long time. He does do baseball from time-to-time when Hawthorne is with the basketball team.
