Whatever he does he better do it by half. He won't see the second half. I won't be surprised if he only gets about 120.

No.

Secure the win
Give Leonard his touches.
Get Williams, Guice and Brossette into the game.
Forget about records unless they come naturally during the course of a game.

The media already knows the game is a mismatch, and LSU will look bad if it lets Fournette keep playing in a lopsided game just to pad stats. It would most likely turn into a negative.

frick the media.

You act like other juggernauts of the past have not run up the score for the sake of it. Look at Oklahoma under Bob Stoops, Ole Miss in their first two games of the season, USC under Pete Carroll, Miami teams of the past, etc.

It's the opponent's job to stop you. Plain and simple. There's no need to insult them by half-assing it. I'm not suggesting Fournette get 30+ touches. But if the record is within reach and his carries are at a reasonable number, then why the hell would you not take a stab at it?

Nobody gave Oklahoma shite last year for letting Samaje Perine break Melvin Gordon's short-lived single-game rushing record against a shitty Kansas team.

The level of retardation in this thread is high.

What some are suggesting is the equivalent of taking your Ferrari down to where high school kids drag race on the weekend and race em all to be "the best".

-Get the easy win.
-Let others get more real game experience.
-Work on getting timing down better and stop the fricking penalties.
-Rest LF for the hard part of the season that is coming up.

only if who ever returns kickoffs knees it at the 1 yard line, and we just let Fournette go 99 yards until he hits 427

that should take about a quarter and a half

Say LF is over 200 at halftime...would you let him go for the record?

The single game record is 427 btw

Never happen. Miles does not care about records overall, and won't risk or beat down his best player by trying to break a record against a severely outgunned opponent.

The goal should be to get Fournette Marcus Marshall's week one stat line:

8 attempts, 184 yards, 2 touchdowns, 23 ypc
