And frankly, I think an argument can be made from a recruiting perspective to hold a game up there.

Along with a huge loss of revenue by moving a home game out of 100k seat Tiger Stadium to ~50k seat Independence Stadium. The recruiting benefit doesn't make up for that loss.

You've never in your life seen 100,000 (or 92,400 for that matter) people in Tiger Stadium to watch LSU play LaTech. Clearly wouldn't suggest going their to play Texas but you lose nothing by playing a state school up there.

If the state fair was in Nola I’d be about it.

Diesel 88 I was reading an article where teams are playing at nfl stadium during their state fair I though it was interesting and I was wondering why can’t LSU do the same thing?

The ultimate “Not sure if Serious” post.

If not, weird.

If so, possibly the worst idea...ever?

You post makes no sense.
Moving the game to the state fair makes no sense...
But I have this cool old program cover from when we used to do that, and that's kinda neat

It doesn’t necessarily have to be connected to the state fair, but I’ve always thought the Dome would be a great environment for the LSU-Ole Miss game every year, something similar to what Florida-Georgia does with the WLOCP in Jacksonville. It would be an event every year for both universities, and the city of New Orleans.

Nice idea, but I say we have enough unique traditions that we don’t have to borrow one from Texas-Oklahoma.

LSU played Rice in Shreveport in the 1970's. It didn't quite catch on. Ole Miss in New Orleans? No. Just no.

Have one by fair grounds just outside Ascension on airline hey every year around Halloween. Used to be pretty big growing up but I think it has died down a little.

Clearly it's a win win to give North Louisiana kids a game in their backyard not to mention it isn't a far drive from Dallas

This is why we play a game in Dallas every couple of years. Kids from NLA would rather go to Dallas to watch LSU play in a state of the art stadium, that is relatively close to them over watching LSU play in a glorified high school stadium in their backyard.

This would make sense if New Orleans were halfway between Baton Rouge and Oxford.

LSU would stand to lose millions of dollars in revenue from moving one home game out of 102,321 seat Tiger Stadium to 65,000 seat Independence Stadium.

1)Since more than half the people leave Tiger Stadium after halftime anyway, they should play the second half in Shreveport.
2) All the LSU fans could get their corn dogs at the State Fair. They sure are tasty.
