I like to see LSU vs Ole Miss during fair weekend
Texas does it at Dallas
LSU should do it at the super dome
Just to clarify state fair is in Shreveport
It’s 3rd weekend in October
LSU will play auburn that weekend

I didn't know we had a state fair.

I've lived in Louisiana for all of my 26 years and I could not tell you when or where our state fair is or if it even exists.

So, they should play in New Orleans while the hickabilly Roundup is going on in Shreveport? I'm searching for a connection.

Why would you play the State Fair game somewhere other than where the State Fair is held? That’s stoopid

The LA State Fair is in Shreveport. The State Fair game for years and years was LA Tech vs Northwestern State at Independence Stadium.
LSU would stand to lose millions of dollars in revenue from moving one home game out of 102,321 seat Tiger Stadium to 65,000 seat Independence Stadium. The SuperDome only holds 74,295.

Anything north of I10 barely qualifies as being Louisiana. This is why none of us knew the state fair existed or is held annually in Shreveport, Arkansas.

There are two state fairs. One in Baton Rouge as well. On Airline near Pville

Other than the fact the titles both include the words "State" and "Fair", the TX State Fair and LA State Fair are nothing alike.
The TX one is quite a big deal. It attracts 2 million visitors annually and generates revenues up to half a billion dollars.
The LA fair isn't even big enough to have it's own wikipedia page.

I have read this 4 times, and still don't understand the connection between the state fair and a football game in New Orleans. We already have a football game scheduled that weekend. What am I missing here?

I think the OP just got scared and lost his stones when he realized the State Fair is in Shreveport.
And frankly, I think an argument can be made from a recruiting perspective to hold a game up there. Clearly it's a win win to give North Louisiana kids a game in their backyard not to mention it isn't a far drive from Dallas. As far as attendance goes, playing LaTech in Shreveport would almost certainly draw greater actual attendance than playing them in Tiger Stadium. Nobody goes to that crap in Baton Rouge.

Technically, 1/3 of the whole United States qualifies as being from Louisiana.
