Should LSU have pushed hard for Everett Golson?

He has missed a couple of games due to concussion, but he has 11 TD's vs 1 int this year for FSU. The big knock on him was his turnovers, but obviously he was able to solve it. Most were fumbles on scrambles that FSU doesn't need and that LSU wouldn't need.

It would have given LSU a solid starter and allowed Harris to develop more before getting thrown to the wolves full time next year.

Does anyone regret putting the idea down in the off season?

And Harris has 9 Passing TDs, 3 rushing TDs and 1 INT. Having Golson would have made no difference this season. We lost yesterday because of the O line.

If you were him and only had 1 year left...who would you play for? Jimbo who just coached a Heisman QB and made him the #1 overall pick or Miles who hasn't put one QB in the NFL he recruited from HS.

Harris is not the problem, sure he missed on a few easy passes. He made a lot of great plays as well. The issue was the O line was trash, there was zero creativity in the offense. We were predictable. We didnt even have anyone to really throw to over the middle.

Doesn't matter. He would have still only been throwing 10-15 times last night

So you think we need a qb that throws alot of picks? After last night we basically doomed ourself with one right after halftime and you think a qb known for excessive turnovers would have somehow helped us?

Golson would have been similar but a better passer in the short and intermediate range.

Even if he would be exactly the same, it would have given Harris more of an opportunity to get limited action this year so he could develop more. I don't think an SEC West schedule is good for developing "touch".

No. I'm happy with Harris. He and Dural were pretty much the only guys who showed up.

Maybe we're better this year if we have Golson, but I think we're better off in 16 and 17 with Harris starting this year.
