Everybody hated the computers with the old BCS system. Remember? I do. For some reason, people were screaming for humans with wildly differing criteria and personal biases deciding who plays for the championship. “Eye test” became more important than quality wins and strength of schedule. Be careful what you wish for.

Most thought computers should be kept but playoff field expanded.

There needs to be a combination of computer and human rankings.

Reminds me of arguing with Liberals. When Obama was doing it, it was ok. When Trump does it, it’s bad.
People have biases and the talking heads love Bama.

I never understood the hate for the computer rankings. It was the fairest way, and weighed strength of schedule heavily as it should.

Of the Computer rankings released, they are actually 50-50 on whether LSU or Ohio St is ranked as #1 and Bama is ranked in the top 4 in two polls as well.

Massey - Ohio St #1, Alabama #4
Billingsley - LSU #1
Sagarin - Ohio St #1, Alabama #3
Wolfe- LSU #1

I am actually for the computers as well, but most people will say that LSU is overwhelmingly #1, or at least deserve to be #1 and the computers don't reflect that.
LSU has had the toughest schedule in the nation thus far (maybe Auburn?) but they have won all their games a well.

How can anyone in their right mind say that OSU deserves that spot? Either way, LSU is in right now and that's all that really matters.

The committee was put in place for one reason and that is to ensure they put in the teams that will get the best ratings whenever remotely possible. They couldn’t dictate what a computer puts out.
