The TAF has the money. I would love to see us go out and hire a nationally recognized coach but we seem to be content to shop for coaches in the bargain basement. As long as the football team is on top, nobody cares but the football team is not on top right now. we have to decide how important basketball is to us.

F. King and Joe Alleva are not likely to be fired. Miserable athletics is the new norm at LSU.

We should spend the money to bring in a respected coach as interim in the name of at least teaching the players something this year.

Why would he start coaching now?
The TAF had the money to hire a top Football HC, but F. King and Alleva went the el Cheapo route.
They will again.

Lorenzo Romar has his resume on the streets perhaps Alleva can upgrade with his proven success rate.

Yes. Let Randy take over and see how they do. Team with jj as coach will do zero.

One comment that caught my attention from his post game was "We're (usually) really good at getting stops and creating scoring opportunities for us,,,"

CJJ must have a different definition of usually than I do.

If John Brady was fired mid-season, then why should Johnny Jones make it through?

Any chance we could get Kim Mulkey to coach the men's team?

I'm just glad that I didn't watch the game. It's bad enough to have LSU lose, but it's almost blasphemy to watch what Jones produces on the court.

I agree he should be gone, but what good does a mid-season firing do if it doesn't give you a head start on hiring a good coach. Alleva has proven an early firing did him no good in football, I'd rather fire at the end of the season and take a few weeks (when good coaches in the NCAA Tournament) to find a proven coach.

Unlike Trent Johnson and John Brady who had multiple losing seasons, JJ has only had winning seasons.

My advice (as a longtime MBB season ticket holder): if we finish with less than 9 SEC wins, fire JJ after the season is over.

There's no use in firing him earlier because Alleva has already shown he cannot use the interim period to find a strong HC. In fact I don't think Alleva will spend the $$$ to hire a bigtime HC for MBB no matter when JJ is fired.

At this point betting against LSU basketball is like going to the ATM machine. I say keep him!

Randy Livingston couldn't be the savior as a player, but maybe as the coach is where his destiny is...hmmm

No. bring up the assistant or hire any decent local high school or preferably AAU coach. We'll be in much better hands.

Does Aleva have the same motivation to do to JJ that he did to Les ?
If anything, the basketball program is in far worse shape than the football program was in...and things were bad with the football program.
The football was losing close games.. the basketball team is getting blown out almost everytime the play !
